waiting time even with a FP+?

I wonder anyone experience considerable waiting time(e.g.more than 10 minutes) even with a FP+ for popular rides especially in the afternoon, anybody? I'm wondering with new system, whether I should use FP+ for popular rides in the morning, say, beyond 1 hour pass opening. Thanks!

We are here this week and have used our Fast Passes during busy times of the day and haven't waited long to use them. I wanted to hate the system but it works great for us. I think using them early in the morning is pretty much a waste. We saw people using them this morning when wait times were really low instead of later on when it was going to be crazy busy!

We used our Fast Passes in the afternoons 4 out of the 5 days that we were in the parks. The fifth day we used them in the morning and then headed to the airport. The crowd levels when we were there ranged from 7-9. Our afternoon FP+ return waits ranged from "walk on" (for Living With the Land that didn't need FP, but we were forced to pick it due to tiering), to 23 minutes for Everest and the Safari. Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain and Rock-n-Roller Coaster were in the 17-20 minute range. Spaceship Earth was around 15 minutes. Soarin' was about 7 minutes, but that can vary based on how you hit the timing of when they let the last group of aviators in the room. So our wait was about 7 minutes to get assigned to a spot on the floor outside the theater, plus the length of time of a whole show. Buzz was around 12-13 minutes. Same with Tower of Terror. Star Tours was close to "walk-on" up to the point where you wait for the doors to open. Kali Rapids was around 7-10 minutes.

We might have waiting 15 minutes for one of the princess meet & greets when we went, but it was right when the skies opened and it started pouring. My guess is anyone with a FP within that window immediately ran for cover.

We never waited more than 25 minutes in a FP return line when it was moderately crowded -- and our shortest was about 2 minutes. It really depends when you're going and which day of the week. You could still use your FPs later in the day because SB lines will inevitably be longer later in the day.

But there's nothing wrong with using a FP for one of your must-do's in the 11-12 slot (or even before 11:30) especially if you have to be somewhere for lunch right after that. IMO it makes planning for ADRs easier if you can guarantee you'll be out of a ride by a particular time.

Sunday afternoon (2 Mar) - Space Mountain - standby line was at 60 minutes, took us 15 minutes to get TO the first FP+ check point (the line was out under the PeopleMover), 10 minutes after that to get into a seat. Similar at TSMM in HS on Saturday.

Think this has a lot to do with people not understanding what the FP line is (lots getting out at the checkpoint - "oh, I thought this was SB") and others waiting for their FP time clogging up the line by waiting right at the entrance. Disney needs queues now just to get INTO the FP queue
