We will be traveling to WDW in Novemeber. My mother will be renting an ecv due to not being able to walk or stand for a long period of times. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how it work we we are waiting in line for a ride. can she stay in her ecv? Is there a thread about this someone can direct me to? tia

any line that is not mainstreamed she will either get a return time to utilize the FP line later on, or be directed to use immediately or have to leave it outside the line altogether and walk it.

MK seems to have the fewest number of mainstreamed lines due it being pre ADA.

she needs to PRACTICE DRIVING IT, especially making tight turns. otherwise she will have a VERY hard time in the lines.

some rides do require ECVs to transfer to manual chair, and they will have some at the line entrance to use.

are you going to disneyLAND or disney world,

if it is disney world most lines you can take the ECV in there are a few that she will need to transfer to a wheel chair ( they have them there and there are plenty of them the CM can show you where they are or get one for you)

there are about 3-5 that you will have to have a return time for in all of disney world ( you have to go though the exit of BTMRR space ship earth are two)

there are some that have a cut off closer to the ride were you will go off like 7DMT TSMM Splash moutian to name a few.

The CM are very good at helping you and letting you know if you need to do something.

just a note about TSMM with the 3 track if you can transfer to the ride vehicle then you can take an ECV there ever time I went ( 4 times) on my last trip there was all ways at lest 1 some times 2 ECV were you load/unload area.

there are a few rides Pirates is one that comes to mind where she will have to transfer to a wheelchair at the ride. most rides you take the ECV right up to loading then they move ECV to exit. be ready to ask CM at beginning of line how the line works for that ride. one thing that comes to mind you might have a longer wait at Toy Story as you have to use the special cars in that loading area which takes longer. I know that with my cane this year was able for the first not have to wait for handicapped cars, not sure if this is true for ECV where rider can transfer. maybe someone else will know for sure. one ride that she most likely will not be able to ride is the People Mover as she will have to go up the moving ramp to the moving platform. I would look at renting offsite, it is cheaper but you will have use outside the gates of park as park rentals can not be taken to buses, boats or monorail for waiting in lines and they are a ways away from gates even the parking lot trams at most parks, while you will have a walk from handicapped parking for MK plus the walk from ferry or monorail to gate. again someone is not allowed to rent and bring out to her. some times there are wheelchairs in parking lots but I would not count on that esp at MK
