Hi, we recently passed ROFR on a 200 point reasle contract at SSR with full banked points from 2024, we paid the full amount to Mason Capital which cleared on 13th Feb (12 days ago) but are still waiting for the process to move forward, we contacted Mason 4 days ago and they said that the seller had returned the contracts but that they were still waiting for confirmation of point ownership! Is this normal or should we be getting worried?
Many thanks for all replies and advice 👍🏻

Normal to require the seller to provide proof of points, yes. Waiting this long, no. Mason is the best IMO. The seller sounds like they are dragging their feet.

If you are past your closing date, you can walk away. If you are getting close to your closing date, you can threaten to walk away if they do not have that by closing day. That usually gets things moving more quickly.

Good luck!

Many thanks for your replies, we contacted Mason earlier and were told that they were closing today so assume the contract will be sent to Disney asap?? Does it make the process any faster if we have an existing membership number via a direct contract we own?

You'll get some mixed reports but in my experience, there's nothing that can be done to expedite the contract actually showing up in your account. That'll happen whenever it happens, probably in the next 2 weeks so maybe check your account every couple of days. But when you first see it, you won't have any points. At that point (after it shows up, but before you see your points), you can send an email to Member Administration and ask them to manually load the points for you.

My recent timeline:

Closed 1/31
Contract updated by Disney 2/11
Points loaded 2/15

Congrats! It is faster that they don't need to create new accounts, but MA still may take some time to get the points loaded. It still took a few weeks to get the resort listed on my dashboard and another week to get the points loaded. Not as fast as if you bought direct!
