Hello All,
I'm currently awaiting my ROFR to clear for 230 points at OKW and I had a question on availability. I am hoping my ROFR and closing will be completed by early Dec and I will have 70 points which I will need to use by April 1. I was wondering (since I am a newbie and have no access to MS) what, if any, is the possibility I will be able to get a 1 bedroom or 2 studios in any resort for the weeks of 1-14 to 1-19, or 1-21 to 1-26, or 2-4 to 2-9, or 2-11 to 2-16? I realize no one can say for sure future availability...I'm just asking for a best guess from some seasoned veterans here..lol.
Thanks in advance from a newbie and his family

I'd say chances are pretty good for Jan. Feb might be less likely due to president's day holiday. It sounds like your flexible and I'll bet that will work greatly in your favor.

Best Wishes. :thumbsup2

It's really impossible to predict availability, but your flexibility will surely improve your odds.

There is one thing you can do to hasten the process, if you haven't already, and that is to use "expedited" closing procedures. What that really means is doing a lot of the correspondence by courier, rather than by snail mail. It reportedly saves a couple of weeks.

The other thing that can expedit things is good luck in ROFR, but you have no way to impact that. Sometimes ROFR takes 3-4 weeks; other times it takes only a couple of days, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why. I'd plan on about six weeks from submission for ROFR, getting the documentation done, papers signed and returned, and closing...and hope for better.

Don't forget that after you close you still will have about 10 business days before you will be fully "in the system" and able to make ressies. Often, you are "in the system" in name only one day and the points are put into the account the next business day. That's because those tasks are done by two separate parts of DVC.

Good luck, and keep in mind that no matter what happens with those expiring points, you'll have 230 a year to use for a long time.
