I have been furiosly reading post and I think i might have cought on to something.

Any help appreciated: I have downloaded ding and am watching fares for Buffalo to Orlando and I get 64.00 for the flight down but 134.00 for the flight back. So can I book my flights and then watch for DING and if I get a cheaper return flight it would mean the I can get my money back. Would this mean that I have my seat on the plane and therefor should be able to just change the price?

Can you tell I am confused. Or should I book the outboand flights and pray for better return?

Thanks,

Heather

What I have learned from reading these boards is that you can (and should) book your flights separately. So I would book the $64 flight down. But I would also book the return flight, but separate from the initial flight.
Yes, Southwest does let you change to the lower fare. But if it is a nonrefundable fare, they will give you a credit that you must use within a year. This system only works if you are planing on flying again.

wow wish i could get a fare for 64.00 1 way for my "plan b" in case Delta decides to fold.I may have to drive back from Orlando to OKC by myself w/3 kids which i dont want to do.I have been searching for days for a back up plan.SW has 1 way flights for 109.00 from okc to orlando but this offer expires April 10-go figure!!
