Waiting for August Hours - All hours are up!!

Have kids? Ever tried to make reservations for a character meal they wanted to go to, and couldn't get in? I have. It's not something I care much for.

Yep I've got 3. mine are boys so I haven't had to do the crt one. I have enough stress with the kids, no way am I adding vacation to it. They're pretty easy kids though, they are so happy just to be at the world, doubt very seriously if they'd freak out about not eating with alladin.

Well, I just asked the MSN Crystal Ball if the August park hours would be released this week, and it told me no.

I figure it's about the same as calling and asking a CM.

Ooh, I got a "Definitely" too, so looks like it's going to happen! :rotfl: Now someone just needs to tell Disney that the Crystal Ball wills it!

Okay, I'm not at all trying to be snarky here, and I fully understand your frustration, but it seems like it may come down to having to plan the parks around the ADR's instead of the other way around. If there is a meal or two that your kids HAVE to have, and they're in a park, then you may just need to take your best guess, and if it turns out to be an EMH day when you didn't want to go then, or the other way around, or whatever, just go with it in order to get to the ADR. If the park touring is more important, then the ADR's may have to fall by the wayside.

In my case, as I said earlier, Le Cellier is my only in park must do. As a result, if we still don't have hours, I'm going to try to (gasp!) book it for two or three days if I have to (and if by any chance I can). If I can get it for more than one day, and one works out, then great. If I can't and can only get it one day, then we may plan our one Epcot day around that. If that doesn't work, then I have to decide I guess not to go there, and have some backups ready.

I guess on the plus side (maybe?), we can still book, unfortunately, it's just a bit blindly. Best of luck to you and I hope you don't take the post the wrong way!

What will people do if Disney decides not to post the hours until let say 8/15?

I don't take it the wrong way. You hate me, don't you?;)

Seriously, it's not really a huge deal. What irritates me about it is that Disney is the one who promotes adding park hours to your schedule 90 days in advance. They also have made it all but impossible to walk into a restaurant and get a table at busy hours. They should be making every possible attempt to make things as convenient as possible for the guests, and they're not doing that in this instance.

I think a better question is, what will Disney do in regards to guests complaining that they didn't get the dining spot they wanted?

I can't make my ADR's until next Tuesday. If they aren't out yet, I'll just take my best guesses. Once hours are released, I'll try and rework my ADR's. Seems like a lot of other people will do the same thing, causing longer waits on the phones and more work for CRO.

party:I did put down the wrong time on the Hoop De Doo - it is 7:15 and I put 8:15 -- thanks for bringing it to my attention as I had to go back and check my original work sheet - was all ready to call Disney and everything - daughter call's them "brain farts" - guess the fingers had a mind of their own!

Hubby and daughter are very pleased with the reservations - I'm going to sit down tonight and flip through my passporter and other guides to see what we're missing - then after some Disney dreams perhaps I'll wake up to posted park hours - where's the pixie dust when you need it?:happytv:

You're welcome! I'd hate to see you show up for the wrong time, that wouldn't be cool! My family loves Hoop dee doo, we try to see it every time we go to WDW. Have fun!:cheer2:

That's what I'm doing today. Unfortunately I think Disney is really less than concerned at this point, for whatever reason. Also remember that we here on the Dis are a very small, tiny population of park visitors. We're pretty fanatical about our trips but I think the general visitor is not. I've had friends book through TA who didn't even know about ADR's until I told them, so I think the amount of complaints on this issue may not be as great as it would seem here.

I'm glad we switched to the end of August, so our ADR call date isn't until the 18th now!

It is not only about planning ADR's at a park because of hours, it is also about planning ADR's around a park because of nighttime shows, such as Fantasmic and Spectro. Disney has made the business decision to cut shows to limited nigths, this requires being in the correct park and very much revolves around ADR's being at that park. Quite frankly it looks like a scam to get people to buy park hoppers!

I love Disney. I own Disney stock, I am a DVC member, I am a annual passholder, I visit the parks yearly, I am an avid Disney book reader, we own over 300 Disney movies. I am a certified Disney nut. But if a business seems to be making a poor decision, we as patrons, need to speak up. It truly hurts me that it is Disney doing this. Universal, of all places, seems to have no problem posting hours up until December!

For those that think we need to just "CHILL" and lighten up, that is plain wrong. This is a slap in the face to guests. Disney is sending a message to their guests that Disney's timing is more important than the guests vacation. I hope their mailbox is flooded with guests expressing their disappointment. When whoever it is that empties their e-mail sees the multitudes of ticked off guests, they may tell their boss and hopefully it will move up the ladder. The louder we squeak, the greater chance we will get noticed.

What will I do if hours aren't released? I am going to double book ADR's until hours come out. I may even triple or quadruple book! I have a Grand Gathering with 11 people:scared1: We are using 3 years worth of DVC points, but if this were a cash trip, my room expense for the Grand Villa would be over $13,000! Add in the out of pocket expense of park tickets for 7 adults, and 4 kids, plus 7 table service meals, 7 lunch meals, stroller rental, souveniers. This trip is a fortune. Surely Disney knows when Fantasmic is showing, they are more than happy to book Fantasmic dining packages. Releasing park hours and show times within the 90 day ADR window is flat BAD FORM! Walt would not be happy at all, and frankly neither would Roy O. I am not really sure if Bob Iger gives a Remy's bottom though.

Pheeeww, I feel much better:thumbsup2. I love a good fight in the morning.

Poor Jennifer Gallagher. Her phone will now be a permanent part of her face until the hours are posted :rotfl2:

Well, it's her own fault, she said to call her!
