Hello Everyone! Welcome to my first Pre-Trip Report. :welcome:I decided to plan a special 6th year birthday getaway for my DD. This was postponed from last year due to us having a second DD and so we wanted to wait until she was a wee bit older before taking her to WDW. I've been a professional lurker but I learned so much from everyone's reports that I wanted to help others in planning if I could.

So I hope you will join me as I plan out loud this Princess overload 6th birthday weekend for my DD. And yes, we may have a super duper special visit planned too!!

Now it wouldnt be right if I didn't do any introductions. My husband and I fell in LOVE with "the Mouse" in 2004 on our honeymoon to WDW. The first thing he said stepping off the plane from Colorado was "we are going to live here some day". But we were Army at the time and couldn't see that happening any time soon. Well an opening came up in 2006 and we found ourselves stationed in Florida and have never looked back! Though we live "down the street" and visits are frequent, we plan special trips like this bi-annually on average and can I say we are due for our Disney dosage.

This is me and DH. I'm the main fanatic. I do all the planning, prepping, budgeting and I'm REALLY good at keeping secrets when it comes to what I have planned. Me: Favorite Movie: Beauty and the Beast, Favorite Character: Tink DH: Favorite Movie: Finding Nemo, Favorite Character: Mickey Mouse

Then we have DS, age 11. Favorite Movie: Big Hero 6 at the moment Favorite Character: Stitch, Loves reading and anything to do with a video game.

Next is DD, age 5. She will be the "star" of the show for this report as this is her special birthday celebration turning 6 in April. :cake: Favorite Movie: Cinderella and Matilda, Favorite Character: Cinderella, Favorite Activity: Tea Time with Dad (though DH isnt too fond of the too tiny chairs)

and then we have DD2, age 17 months. She is our ms. personality and this trip will be quite interesting with a toddler. Favorite Movie: Frozen First sentence: "Let it Go"

just had to add in this cuteness

Now lets get to planning! So I decided abruptly in January that I wanted to do something special for DDs birthday. I thought of clowns, playground, bounce houses etc. And by time I looked at what that cost, I figured I could make it more magical by diverting that money to our home away from home WDW!

I immediately called to see availability for April and there was a wide selection open but I had to pick the perfect room. So of course I came my favorite place to learn more -the Dis! I researched and researched until I realized everything had to be Princess-y, down to where we slept. So I chose the Royal Rooms at POR with preferred view. I decided to add the dining plan since I knew that we were going to have some character dining and DH has this constant fear of our credit cards declining (Bank of America declined our cards on one of our WDW trips because our purchases looked "suspicious" and it derailed our day) so since then, the more I pay beforehand the better.

The next step was scheduling the BBB now that we have dates. I thought, one BBB is good but two is better!!!! So I booked day 2 of our trip at MK and day 3 at DTD.
Now that the room is secured (I still have to put in my room requests). Its time for my next favorite thing.....shopping!!!!!
Last week the Disney Store was offering 25% off on purchases so I decided to get DD's princess dresses for her scheduled BBB. I purchased the Elsa dress (which I wasn't planning on getting but my shipping needed to be over $75 to be free so why not just buy another dress!) and I also bought Tiana's. She has her Cinderella dress from last year which I have hidden so it seems new when I bring it back out. So we now have 3 days, 3 dresses and 2 BBB. This trip is already starting to be the Princess-iest birthday!

From there I was quite confused as to how to arrange each day for which princess. After speaking with other Dis'ers I decided on Day 1 - HS - Elsa, Day 2 - MK - Tiana (since I heard she spends quite a bit of time with little Tianas) and Day 3 - Epcot - Cinderella.

Next up.....Scheduling ADRs! I better hurry, I'm WAAAAAY under the 180 mark. Eeeek! :scared:
