Wait times - Ripsaw Falls.

When we last went in Oct 07 we waited over an hour for this ride, that was shortly after the lap bars were introduced.
That was the first time in ten out of season visits that the ride wasn't a virtual walk on.

have we just been lucky before or unlucky that time? have wait times got worse since the bars went in?

It just depends on when you go. You can check wait times here: http://secure.universalstudios.com/MobileWeb/ParkMenu.aspx It's not accurate right now because the park is closed but play around with it during the day and you should get some times.

I wasn't aware they had introduced the lap bars. Last time I rode ripsaw falls they just had the handles at the side.
I must admit we queued for almost 2 hours, there was maybe 30-40min hold up when the ride stopped b4 we got on.

Funny, took us almost 5 minutes to navigate the maze of barriers to walk on the ride in November '06. All the while I couldn't imagine the wait if all the blocked off line areas were full!!!

No more off season for us unfortunately, so on-site and FOTL it will be in March

Easily the most terrifying, wettest, funnest water ride out there!!

Yeah they started putting them in last year and if I'm not mistaking it was due to people getting off the ride at certain points making it dangerous at least thats what I was told.

But yea, people would get out of the ride. There are actually 2 positions on the ride where Team Members are stationed to watch for jumpers. If someone gets out, they hit that E-Stop, and inconvenices 40 other logs on the attraction who were following the rules. Luckily, park procedure allows Security to escort those involved out of the park.

Why would you get out of a moving ride vehicle?
