Wait times once you're IN a FP line

Can anyone give me a ballpark on how much I should expect to wait once I'm in my fast past line? At least for the most common ones like A&E, SDMT, etc? I'm just trying to figure out how much time I should be leaving between FP+ reservations.

More than 10-15 minutes is unusual, 20 minutes or above is rare. This is true for all FP attractions. Answers to FP FAQs like yours can be found in the green link in my signature.

Remember to factor in the duration of the attractions themselves--for instance Kilimanjaro Safari takes much longer than Expedition Everest.

Last September we waited a max of 15 minutes in a FP line, even in mid afternoon when it was packed

I think a lot of folks were kind of surprised that FastPass didn't always mean get right on the ride. At Buzz Lightyear and BTMRR you get into a shorter, faster moving standby line when you use your FastPass. I kept hearing the same phrase by people I would pass through the snaking queue, "This is the FastPass line?"

I should add that you generally can't schedule FPs any closer than 60 minutes apart since no overlapping is permitted, and those 60 minutes are going to be enough in almost all cases--especially since FPs can't be selected for attractions in different parks.

Keep in mind that POTC is going down a lot. In the FP+ line, DH and DS got stuck >20 min. I got stuck in FP+ line for 45 min

I know I wanted to warn people though. DH and DS were using a replacement FP+ due to break down on another ride. They had ~30 minutes before the next FP+ expired. They tried to get out of line, but CMs wouldn't allow it. I think they got to see if the 15 min grace period worked Someone could easily miss an ADR due to this too.

When I went in June last year the vast majority of my fast-passes were 5-10 minute waits. The only abnormal wait I had was for Splash Mountain where we waited about a 1/2 hour.

A ride breakdown can inflate those times once the ride reopens. It can also inflate other ride waits since ride closures allow FP holders for the timeframe the ride is down to choose other rides

My husband has FP for space and he entered his line when I entered my queue for buzz. We has a short wait for Buzz and then rode it, went to the kiosks and waited, secured 4th FP before my husband ever boarded a rocket. Their wait was in excess of 30 minutes and that included expediting by utilizing both sides. (I don't know what this means because I did not ride--but all other times with FP, they kept to one side and it seemed unusual to him to see them utilizing both sides.)

for every FP+ that i've had including the most popular like 7DMT, soarin, test track, and TSMM i have literally walked right on with absolutely no wait at all.

this is what i find so "unfair" because i'd be fine waiting 5-10 minutes so that the standby line would not be so long.
cuz then when i want to wait in a standby line i wait twice as long as i used to.

in this respect the old FP system worked better because it cut your wait down immensely without making the standby line wait twice as long.

What the heck?!? How can a CM "not allow" somebody to leave the line when the ride is broken down? When a ride breaks everyone becomes a prisoner of Disney for an unspecified and unknowable amount of time?

Next time, inform the CM that due to medical issues you just pooped your pants and need to go change them with your family's assistance. Offer to let them sniff your behind if they say they don't believe you. If that still doesn't work, try a lawsuit threat. It is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS that Disney would imprison somebody because a ride broke down.

Like others have said, usually less than 10-15 sometimes walk on. We were there during a very crowded week and the only waits we had that were over 20 minutes with a FP were at Space Mtn.(and it was just about 20) and that was because 7DMT was down for several hours AND Space had also been down for a bit, so lots of people had those "anytime reschedule" FP's.

I wouldn't have put up with that. What are they going to do, arrest me? However, DH is not as assertive as I am, and I wasn't with them. It ended up working out ok.

The longest we waited was 25 minutes to meet Mickey (posted SB wait was 25 minutes, so I was pretty irritated). Other than that one anomaly, the longest we've waited is probably 5 minutes.

sometimes the line seems really long (i.e. for us it was Big thunder) but we looked at the time, and it was around 15 minutes!
