Wait times once you're IN a FP line

I think Mesaboys answer is accurate. One of the main factors in wait time once you've
sometimes the line seems really long (i.e. for us it was Big thunder) but we looked at the time, and it was around 15 minutes!

In some places like Big Thunder the merge point (with SB) seems further away from the actual ride/ attraction so the wait can be longer than other attractions like meet and greets (thinking of the Princesses) where you are dropped basically into a room (once you merge with SB).

we waited 30 min for soarin in dec. and waited about 2 min for 7dmt. neither was the norm but it seemed fp wait times were longer overall then on past trips. it was also easier to get more desirable fps or so it seemed.

In November we never waited more than 5 minutes in any FP line. It was surprisingly nice and quick. We did not see A&E so I cannot comment on that. But all 3 times we used our fp's for SDMT, we were in line for 5 minutes, even less... It was very quick. Test Track was a little longer because we still had to go in the design room. It depends on the time of year you are going.. at a busy time, fp lines may be longer. We go during a more slower time in the fall when standby lines are 20-30 minute waits.

Thunder mountain looked like a huge wait and everyone was complaining about how long the line looked, but took 7 minutes

Today TOT fast pass was 25-30 minutes. Standby was 120.

When a ride goes down at DHS, do they give everyone who misses their FP+ one of those "good anywhere" FP+ replacements like they do at MK? With so few rides at DHS, I can imagine a policy like that would wreak havoc if, say, TSMM went down.

Here is an example...with a 90 minute standby wait for Soarin', we spent 20 minutes from enter to exit with our FP+. Boom!

TOT went down during our FP time. We were told we would be getting a "recovery email" to choose a new FP option within 15-20 minutes and/or that if TOT came back on line we could use our (by then expired) FP until park close. I specifically asked if RnRC or TSMM would be on the options and was told yes, anything, but that we had to wait for the email and that the FP kiosk CM's could not "override" or help us until then. In the meantime our FP for RnRC came up so we rode that while we waited for the email. We never got it because the ride was back up after we exited RnRC. By then the TOT FP line took about 25-30 mins to get through. So, to answer your question, yes. While we never actually found out, it is what we were told would happen.
