wait times for kids attractions

Can anyone give a range for the wait times for rides/attractions for a 3 year old in July?
We are seriously contemplating not going because I doubt my daughter would stand in a line for even 15 minutes.

I realize that if you go as soon as the park opens you'll have a better chance of having shorter lines, but what do people consider a 'shorter wait time' LOL!

I hate to tell you but for most of the fantasyland rides you maybe looking at 1-2 hours of wait time.... the best advice you can get is get there early get fastpasses for those that have fast pass...

what I would suggest is breaking MK up into a few diffrent days to get fantasyland done... get there early for those with out fastpass and for those that have fastpass go and take in a show or play in the new playground you may even consider skipping the afternoon parade and trying to get in a bunch of rides during that time and then go back and watch the parade another day....

I beg to differ. At opening, your wait times will be nothing like 1-2 hours, even in Fantasyland! Get yourself a good touring plan (I've used Unofficial Guide with an impatient 2 year old, but I've heard Tour Guide Mike works too), get there early, and the most you should have to wait is 10-15 minutes. IF the wait gets longer than that, get a Fastpass and come back later. The wait times are really not that rough if you have a strategy. Our longest line following a good plan and getting there at opening during the summer was 25 minutes (and that was at peak afternoon time when we had come back for dinner and dd HAD to ride on a slow loading cycle ride - Aladdin). Granted, we haven't visited in a couple of years, but I can verify if that's still the case for you in 5 days.

Go for it! The wait to GET there is much worse than the waits while there.

I'm thinking that we may change the month that we go for our visit. We are here in Montgomery, Alabama for 1 year so we have a bit of time to do this.

Can any of you tell me which month would be best for line times? I'm reading that October may be a good month for weather and wait times. We'd like to do the waterparks along with MK.

Sorry, but I have to agree about long waits. We normally tour in the summer time and the crowds are outrageous! Peter Pan can be as long as a 90 min wait. It is managable with a good touring plan and using fast pass. But the waits are still anywhere from 15-30 min. Oh and it feels like 100 degrees with the humidity. If you have the option of touring outside of summertime, by all means do it.

Early October is a great time, it will still be warm enough to use the water parks. My recommendation is early December. It is not crowded and it is decorated for Christmas. (too cold for water parks)

I travel to Disney during the last 2 weeks of august. I have found that if you get to the parks at opening, you could see all the attractions in Fantasyland with a minimal to no wait.

January is when I would say go but the water parks would be hit or miss at that time. When we went this Jan it was definitely warm enough 84 degrees to do the water park. Our dd was 2 1/2 and did fine in the "lines" if you could call them that...the longest we waited was about 20 minutes and that was for Dumbo at night! I know your little one won't be riding Rock N Rollercoaster but the wait for it was 5 min if that gives you any idea about the crowds when we were there.

I am not sure if there are any really good times to go anymore other than September and January. I went early March (2 to 12) this year and by noon MK was really crowded.

If you get to the park by rope drop or EMH you should be fine. Just plan to leave around noon for another park or a break. We usually plan an early lunch at Chrystel Palace then leave on days we do MK parks. In the evenings we go for the parade and fireworks. Which we will be seeing in 5 days!!!!

I don't have young children in my travel party, but last trip DS was 9. We still do Fantasyland. We went the last week of September.

We get to the park as close to opening as possible. We head straight to FL. We grab a FP for Peter Pan, then go on to Dumbo. LAst Sept. there was about a 15-20 minute wait already at Dumbo, but since it was the first line of the day for our party to wait in, it was ok. Then we did IASW next. We didn't need the FP for Peter Pan after all, it stated a 15 minute wait, it turned out to be 5 minutes. We did Mickey's Phil. next hardly any wait. Then Snow White, again no wait longer than 5-10 minutes. We knocked out this area rather quickly, then avoided it rest of the day.

We went in July of last year with a 3 yr old & a 4 yr old. It was soooooo hot and soooooo crowded. The kids just cried and wanted to leave. The lines were so long and if you didn't get there right away, all of the fast passes were already gone for all day. I vowed we will never go back in July. It is just not worth it. We are from the midwest and the heat is just to intense. 100 degree with high humidity and so many people you can't even push your stroller. We have a double stroller so it really was impossible. We went in January and it was great. Hardly any waits and in the 60's and low 70's which was perfect for us. You just couldn't ride splash mountain to late in the evening because it was to cold.
The tickets are the same price no matter what time of year you go so if you have a choice, I would opt for another time!

Wow, thanks for the great info. We are checking my husband's schdule this week to see if he gets any other time off in the fall. If so, I think we'll postpone the trip until then.

When we go to MK we head to Tomorrow land first, get fast passes for Winnie the Pooh while kids do Speedway ,then go to Buzz, then to Dumbo, Peter Pan, IaSW, use Winnie Pooh fast pass, teacups and head for rope drop at Fronteer land get FP for Thunder Mountain, go on Splash Mountain then head to Jungle Cruise, Tiki House, Aladdin and Dole Whips!!! Then get FP for Space Mountain, play at Winnie Pooh playground, do People Mover and Carousel of Progress and leave at noon for rest or have lunch in Park and then leave. WHEW!!!!
