Wait Times At Closing Question

I’ll be down in a few weeks and the group I’m going with will be really hard to get up early for Rope Drop. If I let everyone sleep in, and get to the parks later but stay until closing, will the lines clear out a few hours before or right around closing time? If we could walk on the rides at the end of the night that might be the way to go. Thanks! :yay:

IMHO closing the parks is now the BEST strategy! Make sure you do your research on park times and strategize to end your night at the park that is open the latest.

Is this the case for AK and HS?

I have dinner reservations at Tiffins and the Sci-Fi Drive-in right before those parks close and was planning on trying to get in line for FoP about an hour and the Millenium Falcon ride before the park closes. I'm hoping to make it onto those rides and then make it do my dinner reservations.

We did this for our trip 5/21-5/26. We slept in, did pool around 10, and then got to parks around 4-5 and stayed until close. One night at HS we arrived at about 4 and did Toy Story Mania twice, Slinky, saucers, and Runaway Railroad 3 times. it seemed like there was a mass exodus when we were arriving. While the headliners weren’t walk ons, the wait times were very manageable, especially with it cooling down around 6-630.

Also we found at the resort pool (we stayed at Saratoga Springs), people arriving at the pool after 12 had a very hard time finding a seat or getting enough seats for their party.

This is really helpful feedback! I’ve heard that the morning crowds have picked up since word has gotten out about early openings and debated using this strategy as well. My only concern is AK and FOP since that seems to stay long after RD
