We want to stay OKW in Jan before our cruise. Can't book it till after July 4th. Is it better to book now and then rebook in July. We want Jan 4-7.

You didn't mention the size of villa you would want but I don't think you will have a problem getting OKW right at the 7 month mark for the first part of January but after New Year's and the weekend.

That being said, I would still go ahead and book at your home resort and then switch at 7 months just to be safe. Your dates are not flexible since you are working with the sailing dates of the cruise and stranger things have happened when it comes to availability! ;)

For me, the peace of mind knowing that I had accomodations somewhere and then hoping to change them would be worth it to me.

Hope you have a magical trip!

I would guess it is highly likely you will be able to get OKW at 7 months for Jan 4-7 but since it is never certain, the safe bet is always book at home resort to assure you have a reservation unless your thinking is that you simply will not go unless you can get a particular resort at 7 months out.

Marathon folks will be arriving about that time so one more reason to make sure you have a room some place and then worry about switching.

OKW is usually the cheapest resort to book so be careful that you don't borrow any points in order to book your Home. You cannot un-borrow those points if you get OKW and it ends up costing less.

If you're using all current year points then I agree with the others--book Home now and try to move later.

I always book at 11 and rebook at 7 regardless of the time of year. Why take the chance you can't get anything?
