Been looking for prices for flights to orlando flying on the 20th Dec- 2nd Jan, either from manchester or Gatwick. We're obviously missed out on the early bird ones, was hoping for miles and money but probably won't happen, do we just book or wait abit?

Was thinking the same around Christmas time for August flights - took the advise of DIS members and booked what I thought at the time were rather expensive miles plus money flights at £2450 ..... now there are no August Miles plus Money flights and the full price has increased to £3150 .... so, my advise would be to book now and benefit from picking the good seats too!

Having recently booked mine for December with Virgin - I would agree. Unless you don't mind flying indirect.

Our tickets went up overnight!

I booked two weeks ago with BA to go 14th Dec - return 30th - LGW to Tampa.
Got an email on Monday to say that the return flight had been cancelled and we were re booked to come back on 31st.
So I cancelled and re booked with Virgin yesterday - 14th to 30th LGW to MCO.
£1849 fo four adults.
Looked today and it has already gone up by £150....!
Checked the BA site for 14th to 31st LGW to Tampa and they have gone up by £300....!!!!
My advice would be - BOOK NOW.

At the moment its working out £900 ish each for the dates we want.

Might be worth checking VH flydrives, we paid £1453 for 2 adults 2 children flying man to orlando on 1st dec - 22n dec. Cheaper than booking the flights on there own, plus you dont have to pay in full so you gain interest on the money in the bank:thumbsup2

hi

i would advise booking now, i was lucky enough to book my flights in the expedia 3 day sale and paid £1550 for 5 of us - looked a couple of days later and the same flight had gone up to £2390 - when i was looking around i found the virgin website a bit erratic some days it would be cheaper than others. but it is true the seats rarely go down in price only up. i wanted to book asap but husband told me to wait and luckily we did - although that contradicts above. i just didnt want it to sell out for the days we wanted as we booked our accom with disney before the flights.

No that is economy, PE is £1500 ish!

Flying Virgin from MAN on those dates is just over £1000 now. (Yes, it is "economy!) Shocking!

Only chance is to vary your dates, or fly indirect. BMI through Chicago is half that price! :upsidedow

We have a looked at flying indirect but we've done that in the past and it was alot of hassle at the airport. Also afraid dates arent flexible as i work in a school :(

Having the same problem, Emily! It sucks doesn't it??? I booked a NYE DCL cruise this time last year and, before booking, checked the prices for last December to see how they looked - they were almost half what I'm seeing at the moment! I've looked at flying into Tampa and suggested indirect, but no one was keen... There are 7 of us booked on the cruise and I really think we're just going to have to cancel... It's turning into silly money... :sad2:

It's insane isn't it!? I've spoken to my kids about the fact that we'll probably have to cancel and they're philosophical, bless them, but I feel so cheated as last year the air fares were nowhere near this level... :(

Just to let you know we ended up booking as we didn't want to risk waiting it...i couldn't have dealt with the panic:rotfl:
