Help from veteran DVCers, please.

We booked our HHI trip for mid-Aug and now want to change to a later August date.

Just called MS and put ourselves on the wait list if a vacancy becomes available. I learned there are two options.

1) Ask to be on a wait list for any 5 consecutive nights in a date range that suites our needs.

or

2) Ask to be on a wait list for any night as it becomes available. Thus booking the night when it becomes available and hoping that between now and then 5 consecutive nights can be booked. It's possible we'd get 3 and 2 and need to pay $ for a night in between or even move off site.

My question is, has anyone else booked like this (option 2)? and how likely is it I'll get 5 consec. dates?

My hesitation with option 2 is releasing our current reservation in order to pick up the individual nights as they become available. I would need to release the current Res so as to not borrow from next year.

BTW, just got back from BCV. first time there, highly recommend BCV for the easy walk to Epcot. Had a fab time though met a few less knowledgeable CMs than ever before.

Thanks,

TW

i would book optoin 2 , you have 5 months for all the dyas to come thru and a better chance of getting the whole week.

its a little different at the dvc resorts in wdw, if you are open to all the resorts , you get one night here and one night there, unless you strickly waitlist a certain dvc resort.:sunny:

Waitlist worked perfectly for me.

I booked 7 days at WDW four weeks ago after getting cheep flights from the UK.

At first I was only able to reserve 3 nights in OKW then on to BW then to BCV then to WL and then back to BW in a combination of Sudio and OBR's.

We where on the waitlist for either SA or OBR at a single resort for the seven days. A request for this was made against all DVC resorts one day at a time.

The result: we now have seven strait days at OKW in a one bedroom :bounce: from Friday.

MS were great we recieved calls most days as rooms became free.
