Wait list?

Has anyone had luck being on a wait list? Right now we have reservations for the BC from Nov. 13- 23. I am on the wait list for 9-13, do I have a chance?

I say probably you do have a chance. Do you have a backup plan just in case it doesn't come through?

From what I've heard is that lots of waitlists come through when things get closer to the date.

No, we are just on for BC. We are planning to stay 10 nights. We are already booked from Nov 13-23, which we are happy with. We just thought it would be better to leave before the Thanksgiving rush. So we thought if we could get in earlier in the week around November 9th and leaving around the 19th we would be better off. Therefore, leaving before Thanksgiving week. I hope that makes sense!

Wow you're lucky. This is my second time on the waitlist for BWV and it hasn't come through yet for this trip either.

We only need one day and I thought it would be easy, wrong. We have 23 days left and I'm hoping that it comes through before then. If not we'll have to switch from a BW view room to our standard after only 1 night.

Good luck. I have heard stories about waitlists coming through especially at the last minute. I'll let you know if we have any luck this time.

We have had great success with the waitlist --- 100%. They have always come through for us inside of the 30 day mark.

I wonder if that is because of rooms not being maintenanced or something? I can't imagine that many people cancel within the 30 day window due to the holding status of those points.

Mine have always come through. I only have one waitlist just now, hope this keeps my 100% success rate intact!

I've wondered the same thing.....I agree that I woudn't think most people would cancel less than 30 days out unless under extenuating circumstances.

With my job, I'm not able to plan out 7 months for vacation, much less 11. The max seems to be about 3 months out. I reserve what I can for the time we are going (always SSR or OKW) and then waitlist for the other resorts. With our inability to plan trips far in advance, I bought DVC "knowing" that I'd most likely always be staying in either SSR or OKW, which I'm totally fine with. I'd still like to try everything else though and love the Epcot resorts, so I figured I'd always sign up for the waitlist and maybe occassionally I'd get one somewhere else even though I expect that I'm probably pretty far down on the waitlist!! I don't travel at the peak, but it's also not necessarily the low time of the year --- we go in summer usually but avoid July 4th. My WL always comes through at the last minute.

Is it possible that they are converting rooms from CRO to be used on points if they are not reserved within a couple of weeks from arrival??

I was waitlisted for BWV for 11-9-14 and it came through the same day I decided that I would rather keep my AKV ressie. Now I'm on the waitlist for AKV. Go figure.

We are wait listed for AKL November 6-11. Reading these posts is leaving me with great hope. DH says not to get our hopes up because AKL is in great demand. I won't be upset because I love SSR where we have our original reservation. Any thoughts? When should be abandon the waitlist?
