I have been told that the waitlist has a "match" for our upcoming stay - it's only for 1 night that we have booked on cash in the middle of a 5 night stay at AKV...it has been 3 days since I was told this by member services, but it's still not showing up online. Anyone else go thru this? How long should it take?

The Cast Member that I spoke to said it's definitely mine, once it shows a match no one else can reserve that room night ahead of me, and it should go through but seemed to be under the impression that it should only take about a day to process...

It won't show on-line until after the actual reservation is made. That could take a while, since only a few CMs work this area and they work the matches by reservation date. So a reservation for a matched waitlist for a stay happening in June will get worked ahead of one for July. Also, if the phones are really busy, all the CMs work the phones. Working the waitlist file is a lower priority since call answer time is a BIG DEAL in a call center.

Briefly, when the computer system finds a match, it goes into a special file. It takes a CM to make the reservation, deal with the points and any cancellations required. Sometimes, a match will sit for awhile before the CMs can get to it.

So don't worry, if the CM saw your match, you do have the reservation. It will eventually be worked and you will see it on the members' website.

I know that the waitlist process isn't perfect. But I think it is a lot better process than many here are willing to believe. IMO, a lot of the calls that result in a waitlist match happen because the CM saw the match in the file and decided to work it while the caller was on the phone. I think that happens way more often than someone calling at just the right time to snag a cancellation before the batch process is run to look for waitlist matches. JMHO. YMMV.

Thanks for the reply! I am a Trainer and HR advisor in a call center so it makes sense that it works the way you explained it - it sounded to me when I called the other day like they had designated "off the phones" people who work wait lists, so I guess I just thought it would happen faster. I've never been known for my patience :)
