We booked our summer vacation, for a 2 bedroom at Boardwalk in late July, and the first night we wanted wasn't available. I booked the rest of the vacation, and wait listed for the first night, asking that it be listed until 30 days before. I didn't really understand how I will be informed if it becomes available-do I just keep checking on dvc.com, checking my point count, or will I be informed by letter. Also, can I rely on them to check to see if anything becomes available, or do I have to call periodically. Thanks for your help!

It'll show up in "vacation details" on dvcmember.com basically "instantly"...but of course you have to go to that website to see it...they'll also send you a written confirmation, but that will be a good 2 weeks after it happens (if it happens)...you can also call...but as a general rule they will not call you when a W/L request comes through ...

Hope this helps...

There have been mixed reports of how well the wait list system works.

Many members have posted that they called to double check on availability and magically, while they are on the phone, the wait list comes through.

I would call once and a while just to check.
