Wait list hasn't come through, sooooo....

We have ressies at BLT for Aug..4 nights SV, 4 nights LV. We are wait listed for both on the opposing days, hoping to not have to change rooms. We have had no luck yet, and we would need to bank our points by 7/31. We have four kids, so changing rooms and dealing with two dining plans is not something we're looking forward to. My question for you all is this: if we were to change resorts, ..... we LOVE Saratoga Springs, but have never stayed at OKW...would you try OKW?? Which area at OKW has the first bus stop? Or would you just go back to SSR since you can walk to DD? Thanks for any help/advice!

I have not tried those resorts but just wanted to mention that you do remember that if your WL for a SV room comes through with less than 31 days until your reservation (you didn't say when in August you were going), those extra points from the LV portion will go in to holding.

If it happens the other way around (SV converts to LV), then it won't matter because you will be using more points.

Just wanted to be sure you had thought about this! If it were me, with the kids, I would probably move to OKW as those rooms are bigger.

If you can get all your nights at OKW, go for it. OKW has great rooms. And the second bedroom always has two queen beds. You get a full sized washer and dryer (not compact stackable) and the bathrooms are extra large. Plus the dining table will easily seat all six of you should you decide to eat breakfast or lunch in your villa.

Make sure you change the reservation at least 31 days out from the start of your trip or the extra points will go into holding like Sandi said.

I agree with Deb, if you can get your entire stay at OKW, I would change to OKW. I just did this for my January 2011 trip. I had half at one resort and half at another, and waitlisted for the second half at the first half and after a couple of weeks I couldn't stand it anymore (I'm a waitlist drop-out), I called and moved it all to OKW and still managed to get a HH location.

Have you tried calling (daily) to see if if you can piece it in a day or 2 at a time, this often is much more likely.

With four kids, I'd definitely go for the extra room of OKW. They can go out on the balcony to play table games or they can go outside to feed the ducks and bunnies.

Thanks everybody...I am aware of the holding acct. issue, and we'd decide before our time is up. Still unsure what to do..we were really looking forward to staying at BLT, but changing rooms and dealing with our dining plan being split in two is also just a pain. We can give it a little longer before we decide. The good thing? When we mentioned to our kids that we may change resorts, they all said the same thing: "We're going to Disney, it really doesn't matter where we stay!" Gotta love that!!

have a sv at BLT for sept been on the wait list since Feb and no far nothing.

so it does not look good for either of us.

OKW is pretty wonderful - the problem with being at the first bus stop is it is also part of the HH.

so think I would go with the 2nd bus stop - south pointe - like the area better and it has the 2 doors to the master bathroom.

I agree OKW in the summer is one of the best places to stay, so peaceful, seems cooler there to me due to landscaping and water ways and a very fun pool.

I called MS today, and the only resort with availablility for the dates I need is SSR, which is fine because we love it there. I do have ten more days left before we absolutely have to decide whether to switch or not. I think we're going to give it a few more days and hope for some pixie dust!
