Wait list for HH FINALLY came through !!!

As a new DVC member since 10/03, we had wanted to make plans at Hilton Head, but we were slow in getting our vacation dates together. So when we called a few weeks ago, and requested a studio for 3 nights at HH for this summer, I didn't realize how quickly this resort books up. Well almost the entire summer (beg June- end Aug) was full; except for a night here and there, and only for a two-bedroom. The person mentioned that we would be put on a 'waitlist' and that if anything opend up, we would get a phone call. No guarantee, and the chances were slim (to none) that a studio would open up. Of course we got the kids all worked up about staying at HH, and we felt real bad that they 'may' be disappointed, as well as us big kids too. Well as luck would have it, we received a call on Friday that three nights opened up in July !!!!! We are sooooo psyched ! We can't wait to enjoy our first stay at HH, and are looking forward to our NEXT stay at SSR (our home resort) next year. I just wanted to say that although it seems that all dates are full, the wait list can and does come through...cross your fingers and hope for cancellations....Hope to see everyone soon!

Congratulations. Did you have them wait list you for three specific nights or did you just tell them three of anything in July or August?

When I spoke to the rep on the phone I asked if I could request a number of different dates and she said it was no problem. Therefore I requested a studio for any three nights from Sunday thru Thursday during the months of June, July and August. She told me that although I was requesting a bunch of days throughout most of the summer, and that even though I would be on a wait list (which was my only option), the chances would be slim because there are so few studios available...BUT fortunately things DID work out.
