Wait list for December 26-31?

Hello...

We have friends that just bought DVC this month and really want to go to Disney when we will be there this Christmas. They called last week to make reservations and found out that everything is booked and were put on a wait list.

Does anyone have any experience with wait lists? Is there a good chance that they will get a room? They are willing to stay at any resort and are just looking for a studio.

I would like to give them some encouragement since this will be their first DVC trip! They are kind of down about it.

It's going to be very tough. Maybe not totally impossible, but still they may be waiting until the last minute and still not get it. Have they tried to get a non-DVC resort on points instead?

They haven't tried to use points at a non DVC resort yet. They are just so excited to buy and really want to stay at a DVC resort. I will cross my fingers and hope that it works out!
