looking for a studio for Christmas where should I request that would give me the best chance?

SSR is your best shot, but if you are looking for more than 1 night, it's still a very long shot. (1BRs are slightly higher odds than a studio.)

DVC is really not a great choice for last minute trips (especially in Dec).

Yes we had hoped to have our points a month ago to have better chances. Just got our points so can't change that. Thanks I've put in for Ssr and ak so hopefully we will get some pixie dust and not have to leave on Christmas Day.

I remember when we joined back in 1999 you had to enter a lottery to have a chance to book a room around Christmas.

Yeah I'm happy we got some pixie dust and had it filled in two days. Surprising my daughters with a trip to Disney for Christmas. Now hoping I can find plane tickets cheap. When I looked last they were running 2500+. As of now we will be driving :-( long drive with 3 5 years and under.

I'm driving down too from NYC. Will be there 12/24-1/2. Have wait lists and stalking site. Because we have a 5 the person. My first 4 nights I had to maneuver to studios that accommodate. So 2 nights at poly. 1 night OKW and 1 night BWV. Wait listing OKW for BWV. The rest is 1 bedrooms. 3 nights kidani and last 2 at BLT. Ran out of points. Don't mind hopping.

Hopefully your drive will be a nice one. Southwest.com just lowered their get away prices so we will be flying our family of 5 now for $1300. Beats driving considering it was going to take us four days total (2 there and 2 back) at minimum. Plus two hotels nights. I plan to drive one day but hopefully after the girls are older and can handle driving straight through.
We will be room hopping this trip. Okw, poly, blt, okw. Just saw vgf had two nights but didn't want to use 67 for two nights. It was tempting but decided it wasn't worth it since I'd have to borrow even more points from next year.

Congrats on WL coming through! WL for me too for the same reason--sold and bought contracts, which took MUCH longer than we expected, so we are in 3 separate 1BR accessible units over 3 nights--OKW near HH (our home resort and first choice) OKW not near HH, and AKV Kidani. We are there the week before Christmas--17-19, so really hoping we don't have to move this much--DS will not do well with so much change. Pixie dust and prayers welcomed!

Well hope yours comes through and you don't have to move rooms. Our home resort is blt. Would love to be able to stay the whole week on the monorail this trip.
