What is everyone's take on my subject? My family loves the boardwalk area (Epcot, etc...). We just purchased at WLV and are contemplating adding 100 points at either BCV, when available, or buying BWV on resale. What is everyone's thoughts on the pros and cons?

Maintenance costs at BWV will be less. Up front costs will be less, as well. It seems like a no-brainer. However, I would appreciate the insight of all you seasoned DVC members:)

Thank you in advance

I also think the location of the BWV beats BCV. I think that if the points are the same as BWV prefered, a point will return less value when spent at BCV.

If they were going to make larger units, fabulously better appointed units, or in some other way increased the value of staying at BCV, there might be a contest. I think that BWV resale is a far better value than BCV new.

Disclaimor: Of course some will find the decor and atmosphere of BCV to be worth the lower value recieved in other ways.

Not sure if this is important to you, but there are no Grand Villas at the Villas at Wildnerness Lodge where you own now and there will be no Grand Villas at Beach Club Villas where you are contemplating on buying. There are however Grand Villas at Boardwalk Villas. At Boardwalk Villas you can also reserve at the 11 month window for cheaper "standard" view villas.

Rich,

Are you feeling O.K.? I am aware that you spent a night at the beautiful, glorious Boardwalk Villas during the Food and Wine festival, but I am a little concerned that you may have "went over to the dark side"!!! :p

I would go with a resale just on the economics. Be sure to usndestand how points at different resorts impacts the ability to make reservations. To use the 11 window all the point shave to be at that resort (i think)

A 100 point add on at BWV won't buy much of a stay in a BWV Grand Villa. With banking/borrowing, you could have that option which you wouldn't have at BCV and don't have at WLV.
Economically, I think that BWV is a better value because of the standard room point structure and possible lower purchase price you could find on a resale. If you can find one.......spruce

I am considering doing an add-on at BCV, that way if we want to go down during the peak time we could stay there and not get shut out from the pool. Just remember that pool hopping is restricted during peak times. If you like swimming in that pool it is definitely a consideration.
