We are going for the first time from Jan 18-27th, staying at the WL with deluxe dining. I know it is a slow time but we just made our reservations for our trip and I was worried about DDP ressies. We looked through all the menus and planned what days we will be at what parks and what restaurants we want. I called last night and got them all! We made 4 lunches (others will be counter service) and 8 dinners. I still need to make one for the night we arrive. I am leery to though in case our plane is late arriving (leaving from Rochester, NY in Jan). It is supposed to get in at 1:30 in the afternoon.

Any suggestions for dinner that night. We are already eating at:
Artist Point
Concourse Steak
Coral Reef
Mama Melrose's
Yak and Yeti
Cape May Cafe
TeppanEdo
Whispering Canyon Cafe

Any advice for a new family going to Disney. It will be me, DH, DD 8 and DS 12. They don't want to do any character dining and they are not picky eaters. I'm so excited to go. We are telling the kids at Christmas.

Welcome to the Dis!!!!!

I like Spoodles on the Boardwalk and also the Brown Derby at MGM... both restaurants I have had consistently good meals and service.

You are doing Teppan Edo, but I also like Rose and Crown in England, people swear by LeCellier in Canada, I also like Akershus in Norway, which is a Princess character meal.

What if you make a later ish ressie...like 7:30 dinner?? If you run late, no biggie as long as your ADR doesn't require a CC hold. What about BOMA? Where are you staying, that may help.

Your other choices are GREAT (well, with the exception of Mama Melrose which I personally hate!!).

Those are some good choices so far! For your arrival night, how about Kona at the Poly? It doesn't require a credit card guarentee, so there's no problem if you have to call and cancel from the airport if you're running late, and the food is excellent. And it isn't too hard to get to from the WL - boat to the Contemporary and monorail on over to the Poly.

BTW, we'll be at the WL at the same time, so keep an eye out for alien green Mickey's! We're going to be there Jan 16 to 27, also on the deluxe dining plan. :)
