I love taking photos! ( but nowhere close do I come to Dan's level )
Yes Dan, those were vents on the crater smoking....it just reminds you that under all that snow is still a very active volcano. I don't know if you can tell from the photo but Mt St Helen's already has formed a new glacier in it's crater. Even Mt Rainier with all it's glaciers is still active... a Park ranger told us if you sit down at the crater on Mt Rainier you will stand up again very quickly...with a hot seat!

Poohstyx, you must try to go to Wa sometime! Knowing that you like Colorado, I think you will like Wa too. You are right about us not having those views down south, but at least we do have these views

How did I know you were going to show me pix of "your" beautiful beach?! The beaches around here are so beautiful. We also love the mountains. Our mountain families come down here to the beach and we leave the beach for the mountains! Go figure. We would love to visit Washington and Oregon -- maybe next year. We went to the Rockies last year - love Colorado, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming --- you get the picture!
Let me know when you're gonna be in this area again - we'll plan a little DIS meet!

It may be awhile though, between trying to get DD ready and to college and I'm going to visit my parents in New Mexico in a few weeks, but as soon as I can get "down" to Pensacola I'll call you up!
