"W" Anyone going?

I agree. I don't agree with much of GWB's policy and actions, but I still try to maintain some respect for presidency.

My guess is that more people than not feel this way. I could be wrong, but I don't see the movie being a big box office hit. It will mainly attract the really hard core angry Bush haters, but the rest (even those that aren't generally happy wth the Bush adminstration) will stay away.

No, you couldn't pay me enough to go and see that trash I also don't planning on see the Michael Moore spoof. I can't stand to watch that kind of nonsense

Do you think it will be a fair portrayal? I don't, that's why I won't go to see it. It would be like watching a movie about Bill Clinton written and directed by Rush Limbaugh. Entertaining, maybe, but based in any reality, unlikely.

I agree, waste of time and money.

I've been looking forward to this movie for some time.

Everyone has a right to their opinion thanks to brave men and women like Palin and Biden's sons. Could you please can the disrespectful banner though!! Many find it offensive.

I won't go and neither will anyone else except a few rabid Bush-haters. I'm happy to say that the country has pretty much been rejecting Hollywood's recent crop of leftist propaganda films. They're booooring unless you're one of the few who is completely consumed with the hate.

Don't forget Mccain's boys!;)

Not me. I find it distasteful to make a movie that mocks a sitting President. And I would feel the same way if it were a liberal President as I do about our current President. It just rubs me the wrong way entirely.

very well said...my sentiments exactly

I didn't know it was supposed to be a mockery type film. In the ads it just looks like a movie about him, not necessarily good or bad. :confused3

I haven't seen it (and don't plan to until it's available on cable), but I read an article a few months ago that it's actually not a slam on Bush.

I'm no Bush fan, but would not want to see a film that is a mockery of his disastrous (IMO) administration. I don't find anything funny about these last (almost) 8 years.

IMO there's nothing new about satirizing current presidents. I look at it as Stone directing a feature-length Saturday Night Live skit. I'm not offended, and not interested either.

We plan on going to see it. I won't hide my Bush hatred. I hope it mocks him - he's done nothing but mock the office his entire administration. I have no respect for him at all, the same way he has shown no respect for the constitution and this country. As I've said many times, he is NOT my president.

I thought Wag the Dog pointed a lot at Clinton, and he was in office when it came out. (I know that the book was based on President George H.W. Bush but the movie was drastically different from the book it was based on.)

A photograph of the girl with whom the unnamed president was accused of taking liberties is shown by journalists in the film. The photograph is remarkably similar to the much-seen image of Lewinsky greeting President Clinton in a crowd event, including the wearing of berets by both the girl in the image in the film and Lewinski in the real photograph.

Satire of a current president is in no way unusual. Maybe a movie is unusual but Bush is a once in a lifetime kind of guy! (I hope!)
