VWL Waitlist

I have a 1 bedroom at VWL booked for Dec 11 - 17 and are trying to convince my parents to join us, so I waitlisted a 2 bedroom for the same time period. I called MS to see if they could tell me how far down the waitlist I am. MS said they can't see this info. Anyone else have any luck getting this info? What do you think my chances are of my waitlist coming through?

if you are certain your parents will come - then I would see if OKW has any 2-bedroom and then also go on the waitlist for VWL.

then you know you got a 2-bedroom regardless.

but only if you are sure your parents are coming - otherwise I would stick with 1-bedroom.

Sorry! Member Services never tells you where you are on the WL . However, I have been very lucky on the waitlist. You should be fine, but you may want to have a back-up plan like a Studio for them at the same time or a room over at the WL. That time of year is surprising busy at the DVC resorts.

I am actually waiting right now for a VWL 1bedroom on 12/11! I will keep my fingers crossed that your 2 bedroom clears up and I maybe I will inherit your one bedroom.

Just to echo what everyone else said, they can't tell you where you are, and every other time I've waitlisted I've gotten what I needed. The system does seem to work pretty well.

I've been WL for a VWL studio for Dec 6-11 for almost two months now and so far no luck. keeping my fingers crossed though.

Thanks for the reponses. I can't get them to confirm yet, so I'll just sit tight and hope the waitlist comes through. At least then they'll have one less excuse. (Still can't understand why we have to beg them to come with us on vacations!!!)

If they decide too late OKW or SSR should still be open for your dates. Of course, everyone want to be at VWL for the Christmas decorations but the other resorts are also very nice too and your parents will be duely impressed.

I was on a waitlist a studio for December 8 and 11 right from the 7 month window (talk about panic attacks - I was afraid my whole vacation was going to be checking in and out of SSR and VWL). With my 11th waitlist, the room was taken while I was on the phone with MS and she told me I was 1st on the waitlist for that night. I had no idea where I was for the 8th.

The 11th came through on 5/20, and the 8th just came through on the 1st. So now I am totally at VWL and consider myself very lucky.

It is not impossible. But I would agree - DVC is very tight at that time and if you want a 2 bedroom you may need to go with OKW or SSR (although I think I read somewhere that everything was taken for that time frame except 1 bedrooms at SSR).
