VWL two bedroom question

We're making our first trip to our home resort, VWL, this October. We brought it sight unseen and are very excited to stay there. I was hoping the experts could give me some advice.

When I first made my reservation for a 2 bedroom, I had requested a lock-off since my in-laws were planning on joining us. However, they just canceled. Since its only us and the babies, I thought I'd change it to a dedicated 2 bedroom. I had thought a lock-off vs 2 bedroom was one of those special requests that you may or may not get, but when I called, I was told it was an entirely new reservation and I had to get on a waiting list. Since my reservation confirmation says nothing about the type of 2 bedroom I had, I was wondering whether this was right?

I also was wondering if there are any special requests that are recommended when staying at the VWL? Is there one type of room or floor that people prefer?

I believe that it would be a new reservation since you are requesting a different type of room. If there are others on the waitlist for your lock off 2-br, or a studio or 1-br, they would get yours and you would be placed on a waiting list for another dedicated 2 br.

You will not be disappointed. We also bought site unseen at the VWL and liked it soooo much we added an additional 175 points! Its addictive.

We have always stayed in a dedicated 2 bedroom and have reserved at the 11 month window. Unless specifically ask at time of reservation, you will receive a dedicated 2 bedroom. In addition, we have always asked for rooms overlooking the quiet pool. The 3 times we have stayed there, absolutely no complaints.
