Hi all...We are just back from 7 days in WDW. It was our first trip as DVC owners and my first trip to WDW since 1979.

We stayed in a two bedroom lockoff at VWL. We had rooms 3537 and 3539. The rooms were nice, and were very clean when we checked in. My wife and I loved the resort and all my two year old twins wanted to do was play with the Mickey Topiary that holds the Disney Vacation Club sign as you walk to the Villas.

We arrived on 9/14 and checked in. I had a woman that was in training for her mouse ears when we checked in, so I did not receive my "Welcome Home". Honestly I thought the whole "Welocme Home" home thing was kinda corny, but when I did not get mine I was kind of bummed!! Anyway, I did get my first Welcome Home when I bought some groceries at the mercantile.

The people that were on the trip were me and my wife, my twin boys Jack and James (22 months), my new son Max (4 months), my mother in-law and her boyfriend. We all had a great time.

We did MK the first night and there were no lines at all.....we owned the park and walked right onto every ride. We then caught Wishes at the closing of the park and all I can say is WOW!!!!! EVERYONE MUST SEE WISHES!!!!

We did Epcot and I rode Mission Space (Never Again) I was sick the remainder of the day. We also did MGM one day and Tower Of Terror is amazing....what a greate ride. We had to leave MGM early since it was so HOT and the boys were very cranky. We mostly did the pools during the day and the park at night. We did however do Typhoon Lagoon one day and it was blast!!!

Well there is too much to type, but I am sure you get the jist that it was a great trip!

Only downside for the trip was that my brand new Digital Rebel camera decided to die on me the day we arrived. I had to buy disposables and send the camera in for service.

Bye for now......

Jim,

I'm glad you had a great first trip to VWL. It's a great resort and our DVC home as well.

We leave for VWL in a week and I can't wait!

Did you happen to see the Electric Water Pageant on Bay Lake while you were there? That's always a treat!

I know what you mean about the topiary. Except for our girls run towards it when we first get there and automatically turn around----posed and ready for the annual picture!

Thanks for your post. It made me want to go home NOW!

Thanks for the great report. It's always nice to hear a first trip was up to expectations. So are you ready for the first add-on yet?

It sounds like it didn't take you long to get into the DVC vacation mode!

I would think with three such young ones, the slower pace was a blessing that allowed you to truly enjoy your vacation. I'm also glad that the villa was nice and clean for you.

Thanks for sharing your first impressions of a DVC stay with us. With the ages of your boys, you will be enjoying DVC stays for many, many years to come with them! :)

We did Epcot and I rode Mission Space (Never Again) I was sick the remainder of the day

My poor husband. All he ever wanted to do was have a ride into space. I previewed the ride for him, and determined (with my infinite wisdom  ) that the ride was OK for him. Big mistake. He hurled when he got off the ride, outside of the restroom (didn't make it to the inside), inside the restroom and IN the car on the way back to our beloved VWL. No, he did not defile VWL (thank goodness!). He was basically a limp rag until about 7 pm (we had Cirque tickets). So much for Mission Space!
(I liked the ride by the way).

By the way, was your Canon Rebel digital? I hope that is the last problem you ever have with it!

We agree, VWL is a great resort, glad you think so too! .

Sounds like a great vacation, Jim! We checked out of WL a couple days before you arrived and it was our first stay there....well, I fell in love with this resort. It is absolutely beautiful!

BTW -- I love thrill rides, but also had the same issue with Missions Space....can't pay me enough to do that again! LOL

Glad you enjoyed your trip. We love VWL and are glad we have points there. Since your kids are so young VWL is so convienient to the MK, it sounds like a great fit for your family.
