VWL to FW

I am thinking of taking my family over for the sing along. I have heard the walking path is not to be used after dark. Am I better to take the boat or to drive. I know if I drive, I'll than have to take an internal FW bus.

Boat from WLV to FW!!! Its the quickest way to go!! Its drops you off right near Pioneer hall and all the activities.

I'm sure the path is perfectly safe, though it isn't lit at night - and the bugs might be a factor.

Take the boat over. If you drive, you can't park near the action and you'll have to take an internal bus. You can take either the small boat that runs between CR, WL, and FW, or the larger MK boat if it is going to FW first. Just ask.

I'm another vote for the boat. Whenever you can leave the car behind it's a good thing and this is one case where you can.

The path is not lit and goes through some fairly heavily wooded areas. At night the tree canapy really blocks out the moon and any stars, so it's very dark.

You could walk it with flashlights, but who wants to carry flashlights around?

After dark, take the boat.

I stayed at the FW last year and it was too dark to really walk around in some areas, and I was glad I wasn't driving, it was just too dark.

Take the boat it was fun, but take BUG SPRAY with you, I could not believe the number of bugs attacking the boat, maybe it was the season. They were really scaring me !

The best way to get to FW is to take a bus from WL. We made the mistake and it took much longer by boat because after you get off the boat, you still need to walk to catch a bus or walk. We walked and it was longer than we thought.

By mistake, we found the bus, I think it is the orange line or something. Right outside the campground is a bus stop. If you get on the right one, it takes very little time to get back to WL. We took one that was going the wrong way and did a tour of the whole FW before we got to the hotel, but it was still not long.

We walked over last November to the HDDR, and saw a deer and lots of kudzu on the way. The walk took about 20 minutes or so. Since it was dark by the time we left the show, we took the bus from FW to WL. The bus stop is right around the corner by the petting zoo. Hope this helps.
