VWL - Tell All

First off, I don't know if I should post here or on the DVC forum. We're not renting points - we have a cash ressie there for 10/06.

What kind of views do the 2 bedroom villas have? Any overlooking Bay Lake? Is there anything I should request as far as location? We've stayed at WL many times, but never the villas. About how far of a walk is it to the boat? Any shortcuts? Tips? Thanks!!!

Because of the woods around the villa's it is difficult to see the lake, however some units on higher floors may give you a glimps. Some people request rooms close the the elevator I have never had a bad room or view. Enjoy !

We own at VWL. You'll love it there!!

The 2-bedrooms can have a "woods" view or a pool view. We stayed in a dedicated 2-bedroom a few years ago and had a view of the pool and a bit of Bay Lake. There are a lot of trees in between Hidden Springs Pool and the lake, so you don't exactly have a "lake" view, but you would still be able to see a bit of it. We always opened our sliding door at night to listen to the Electrical Water Pageant, and could even see some of it from our villa.

It's not a terrible walk to the boat dock -- obviously longer than from the main Lodge but not more than about 3-4 minutes. There's not really a shortcut ... you go out the back door by the pool, around it and then past the main pool and geyser down to the dock.

As far as room location, there are some people who think the hallways at the VWL are really long (we've never noticed this) so if the idea of a hike at the end of the day bothers you, you might want to request a villa near the elevators.

Here is a picture of the "woodview" from a 2 bdr. dedicated unit from the 5th floor. It's not a straight shot but you'll be able see bits of the lake through the trees from your balcony if you're high enough.
If you get a 2 bdrm. unit close to the elevators, you'd most likely get a pool view.

We are VWL owners and also love it there. Nothing like the change of pace the lodge gives you. What a feeling. Most of the views are just plain peaceful ones but like noted, you can get a glimse of the lake. And after staying at BCV and BW, the VWL halls are SHORT. LOL.
