I have requested to be near the elevator. (We have a lock off studio.) Shoudl I call back and also request to be on the lake side? I'm trying to avoid the dumpster view and parking lot/ bus view.
Thanks so much!

We were just there in a 2BR (4552). We had a bus side and unless you're alllllllllllllllll the way down the hall, you won't see the dumpster. If they put you near the elevator, then the dumpster won't be a problem. As for the bus view, it was filtered through the trees and noise really wasn't an issue. I also don't think the parking lot view happens unless you're in the Lodge. From our room, we couldn't even see a parking lot. Hope this helps....

Enjoy your vacation!!!

no parking lot views at VWL.
there really isn't a bus view either.

it's probably about 80% Woods View all around. the rest are Pool View, and there's those dumpster view rooms that are room#s x560 or x562. (x being the floor)

close to the elevator should be fine!

A villa on the lake side would be a good request. It will guarantee a non-dumpster view, and provide a large number of rooms from which to meet your request.
Although the front side is fine, I too prefer the views on the lake side of the resort. I also prefer being a little further from the elevators, as the 'total woods view' is awesome.

I know you will enjoy VWL!

Thanks. Then I'll leave my request like it is. Out of curiosity though, can you see the light water parade thing from a lake view there?

Maistre Gracey, do you suggest I change my request then to lake side or close to elevator on lake side? (Right now I just ahve close to elevator.) Are the halls here never ending liek I hear about BWV?

LOL, yes the halls at VWL are never ending if you get the end room (dumpster-view or rooms across the hall from dumpster-view).

however, i think the halls at BWV are worse than never ending... if there is such a thing. heh.

Hi, Shan. No, the halls are not quite as long as BWV, but it is a little walk to the end.

The lake side, further down from the elevators, are 'pure woods views'. Some may not like this view, but we love it. Rooms closer to the elevator will increase your chances of seeing the pool, if that is your choice.

The fifth floor is nice, as many of the rooms (not all I don't think) have vaulted ceilings. This, at least to me, looks very impressive. Beware that some rooms may not have an open balcony though. Also, the fifth floor does not look down into the VWL atrium in the hallway, if that is important to you.

I am pretty sure (but not certain) that the water parade is not visible from VWL. I have not seen all views, so it may be possible from a villa close to the main Lodge.

While many rooms will hear the water pagent, only a few of the pool view rooms would have a view of this. Regardless, just gather together your favorite people, concoct your favorite beverage and head down to the beach. Bring a blanket for your lounge chair, feel the lake breeze, listen to the waves kiss the shore, and enjoy the parade as it was meant to be enjoyed.

One other quick note -

Room 4533 is a studio that does not have a balcony. It is a supposed Oops and was a big discussion among CM's when I was there. I was one of those picky people at checkin. With room ready I was offered Dumpster view. I than had to "wait as my room wouldn't be ready until 4pm". I asked if they could make sure it wasn't the no balcony room (it was a solo trip and I intended to be on my balcony). The CM told me there was no such thing. When I pulled out my list and give her the room number she was amazed to confirm I was correct.

Enjoy - VWL is beautiful, can't wait to go back.

I second the head to the beach for the EWP

That is what we did on our WL trip and it was quite a sight

Did the same thing in May from the CR

thanks

I believe it's just the 5th floor rooms that have an enclosed balcony.

Raze,

4533 (lock-off) studio is the only room at the VWL that I know of that doesn't have a balcony. We got it and a 3rd floor dumpster view studio our very first visit at VWL. My parents were in 4533 and we were on the 3rd floor, bus-stop side very end room studio that overlooked the dumpster.

The only studio I would ever reject at check-in would be the 4533 lock-off with no balcony. This room must really be a goof for sure. The dumpster view studio we had felt really large (it was on the end). I could almost swear there was more square footage in it. And we never heard noise. I would consider this room again, but NEVER 4533 if it was being used as a studio. Too enclosed!
