VWL question

I posted in another thread about staying at VWL in November, not this year but the next. I know that December is impossible to get without the 11 mo window (and even there it seems sketchy), and I wouldn't really want right around Thanksgiving, but how would the first 2 weeks of November fare with availability and demand and such? January was no problem at all for us to get with just 2 months advance planning, but everyone seems to be sick all the time in January and I hate risking ruining our vacation! Lots of $$$ here you know? I definitely do *not* want to do the summer and the points are just to high in the spring so I was thinking Fall, either October or preferably the first couple of weeks of November. Is this a high demand time too? I think this April (7 mo window opening) I'm going to call and check availability to kind of test the waters.

I guess I should add that we normally would get a 1BR, but there would be one trip where we would need 1 2BR and 2 studios for an extended family trip.

We stayed in the WL in early November a few years ago because my husband had a convention in the Orlando area. It was a last minute decision to go and I had to call day by day to see about room openings-but that was the main hotel not the villas. (We just didn't want to use our points at the villas since his company was paying for the room). The hotel was crowded near the weekend, which was Halloween, but it slacked up from Monday on. The parks were not crowded at all and we have been in the summer and go for Mardi Gras every year, so those are my points of reference. I think you should be fine in early November.

One year in June we booked a one bedroom at VWL for the week before Thanksgiving, no problem. We absolutely loved that week. We didn't hit crowds at all and the weather was beautiful, a little chilly the first couple of days though. If we could, we would always pick that week before Thanksgiving, but with the kids in school it has become harder and harder.

I think early Nov wouldn't be a problem, but I would reconsider doing late October. That would allow you to take advantage of F&W festival and a night of MSSHP, which are well worth it. We did the last week of Oct. in 2003 and it was a wonderful trip. Hope that helps!
