Does anyone know of a site that has some good pictures of VWL. Also, does anyone know when Disney turns their Christmas lights on.
Thanks so much,
Billy
I haven't got a web site to suggest but Disney is fully decorated as of today (Thanksgiving). Decorations started going up earlier this year with many up for over a week already.
www.mouseplanet.com has a photo tour under the accomodations section of the WDW planning guide...also Deb Wills; site has some photos www.wdwig.com But actually no pictures or video I have ever seen prepared me for how spectacular the place is...truly magnificent...
The decorations and lights will blow you away!!!! Be at Epcot one evening for the lighting of the tree -- the music and the lights on the arches are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
Also, pics on Deb's site: http://www.wdwig.com/hol_phot.htm where you'll find more links, too. Here's a quote from her site, "Walt Disney World employs a Christmas Decorations staff of more than 20 full-time, year-round cast members, with additional part-time staff added during the holidays! This staff is responsible for scattering 1,200 Christmas trees throughout Walt Disney World, as well as draping 5.2 miles of garland and decking all the halls with 130 truckloads of decorations." Wow, I never knew that!
DH and I were at VWL the week of 11/10-11/17 and on 11/15 we stayed up and sat in the lobby and watched the group of 20 individuals with genie lifts install and decorate the massive tree in the WL lobby. The night before this they also showed up with around 4 truck trailers (26') and dsitributed the massive carts with all of the prelit decorated garland and wreaths for all of the entry ways and the unloading areas and walkways to the villas and bus stops.
It was very cool to watch. I am trying to recoup from vacation and catch up on work but I also have many pictures that I will post on my website sometime in the next few days.
