Which to chose? Which to chose? .....for our next trip.

I've been trying to decide which WDW DVC we should chose for our Feb 2005 trip (Pres. Week). I have our home resort reserved and it is coming up on the 7 month mark. My husband thinks I'm obsessed (I am!) and doesn't want to hear about it. "What ever you pick will be fine" attitude. I love him, but no help at all. So will you guys give me some opinions??

Here is the outline of our trip so far:
4 nights (Wed. Feb 16 - Sun. Feb 20) at AKL Concierge. Never done this before!
5 nights (Sun. Feb 21 - Fri. Feb. 25) 2 Bdrm currently at BCV.

Our family consists of Me (yikes! I'll be 40), DH (41), DD(turning 9 there) and DD(3.5). We are not real experienced WDW people. We have gone once in recent history, last Thanksgiving, and had a great time at BCV. We are layed back and like having some down time but will be at the parks at opening to avoid the crowds.

During our AKL portion of our trip we hope to focus on enjoying the resort, AKL (including sunrise safari) and MK while the crowds are lower(before Pres. weekend). The DVC portion of the trip we will see Epcot, MGM, relax at the resort (DH will do Richard Petty), and perhaps MK again.

So..... what DVC should we stay at??

BCV is our home and we liked it there. It will be like coming home after being someplace new. Also the epcot area makes some sense in our touring plan.

VWL intrigues me. I would like to stay there sometime, and while the kids are young would be a good time. The transportation to MK (and MK area resorts) sounds great, but I have also heard some bad things as well. My DH is a vegetarian so I'm a bit concerned about the food choices for him at VWL.

Then there is BWV.. I would love to try this resort too. It would be like home; in the Epcot area but we would get to experience the other side of the lake. I want to try that clown slide! (pool hopping seems too much work for us!)

Any thoughts??

Since you love BC and the surrounding area if you want to try something new you will love the BW. Its as similar as you can get to the BC as far as options/dining and location to Epcot/MGM. Since its my home I can't find any faults with the resort. The ones you hear frequently on the boards about long corridors and a long walk to self park could affect your decision but since I always valet park and can often find stairs that are reasonably close to my room it has never been a minus to me. The views are much better on the whole here than BC but the pool is not as elaborate. The clown slide is alot of fun plus the community hall is great for the kids. Rooms are about the same size with a slightly different bathroom and dining setup but not enough to make a huge difference. Only if you are planning to spend a great deal of time at Magic kingdom would I consider VWL as the location is only central to that park. So many options, isn't wonderful

It's a well known fact that each resort (BCV, BWV, and WLV) has it's own charms. I'd don't think you can go wrong at any of them. I have my own preference, but I'll keep that to myself.

Here's one thing to keep in mind. In my opinion, one of the best things about being a DVC member is that I have the option and flexibility of staying at each and every DVC resort. In addition, I have about 36 more years to do so.

So, with 36 years left until your membership expires, you have the option of staying at a BCV now (a resort you already know about) or trying something new.

I prefer WVL for those times when I want to be closer to the MK and BWV or BCV when I want to be near EPCOT or MGM. Of course for the night life I would go for BWV and for a bit slower pace of life, BCV.

Again, I don't think you can go wrong at any resort. For us it depends on the type of vacation we are looking for at that particular moment.

Good luck
