VWL Noisy?

I have an upcoming trip planned for VWL. We are staying in a dedicated 2 bedroom. My wife's grandmothers (yes, plural) are coming to stay with us for two nights. Both are in their 80's and relatively light sleepers.

During my last visit (regular room) to the Wilderness Lodge a few years ago I recall the boat horn being slightly annoying when MK closed late because the boats could be heard docking past midnight.

Can the boats and nightly parade be heard from the VWL? Has that noise ever been a deal breaker for you in choosing VWL as a resort location?

I can't say with 100% certainty, but I know the Villas are blocked by the main building. You can't see Bay Lake, the boat dock, geyser, etc. from the Villas.

I would imagine that would cut down on the noise.

VWL is very peaceful. Don't worry!

The only noise you might hear is from people (especially excited kids) walking in the hallway. If you want to cut down on that, ask for a room FAR away from the elevator so you won't have people walking past. Even that noise isn't bad though and I doubt it would bother anyone sleeping in the bedrooms.

We had our first VWL stay last April and I did note to myself that it's incredibly quiet over there , much quieter than the Lodge.

We were on the 4th floor and could see the lake through the trees but I don't recall any boat noise.

Waht you might want to avoid is a room overlooking the walkway between the Lodge and the Villas. When the service carts are rolled over the wooden deck it can seem pretty noisy, particularly when everything else is so quiet. We've had a room there twice - granted it was the 2nd floor so we were pretty close- and it was enough to disturb going to sleep.
