Echoing what the others said, it will be difficult to get any rooms during that period as VWL is extremely popular during the Christmas holidays. That being said, I was in your shoes this time last year, only my contract didn't close until late April. I was able to book the dates I wanted by doing split stays at two different resorts, including VWL. We went on waitlists and called frequently, and eventually wound up at VWL in the same room for the entire stay. However, I consider that turn of events to be extremely fortunate, and I was only after one room (1BR) not two. Still, it IS possible. The main thing is to call as soon as you can, get whatever rooms are available, then work it from there. Good luck!
I think it will be very difficult. Is it your home reosrt? That is a very busy time for DVC. I would see what you can book, then waitlist for what you want. You can have 2 waitlists at at time. If you own at WL, but can't get a room there--then at 7months from check in -call and get whatever you can and you will have your waitlist. I am sure you will get to stay somewhere for those dates. Contemporary has a gingerbread station, BCW or BWV has a chocolate carrousel (cant remember which one),etc. SO each resort will offer something.
