Great pictures. Thanks for posting them. I hope you don't mind but I shared this link on the VWL Lovers thread.

IMO the cabins left of the lodge will have a crap view and location.

:earsboy: Bill

Could be, I was trying to gauge a ground level view towards the castle-even if they removed the trees on the shore. Seems like they would just look at a grassy hill and CR, and the monorail.

There might be a chance of fireworks (esp NYE) but to hard to tell at this point, if even worth it at all.

Are they moving world drive? The cabins on the end are right next to it.

Also who wants a view who's only positive is high fireworks once each night?

Same point.

However, my guess is many folks would (same as BCV). Will see.

Heck how many times have we heard folks ask about fireworks from the one side of WL?

Heres some: http://www.disboards.com/threads/can-mk-fireworks-be-seen-from-wilderness-lodge.2523146/

They'll have a view of the boat launches running all day long. Positive or negative I'm not quite certain though.

Agree. Picture the boats for BWI/BWV/YC/BC.

There are so many different family ways of touring.

Some percent get up early and are gone all day, but back each evening. They may be prime candidates for a fireworks view (even high up) since the rest never bothered them all day since they were gone.

The question is, is there really a fireworks view from that shoreline-unknown yet IMO.

But reading through those threads above-there is indeed interest.

I am jumping out of my skin with excitement, we are surprising my two boys and my nephews with a trip in about 30 hours!!!

My kids are very accustom to being up late or waking up early. My nephew on the other hand are early to bed early to rise.

We are going to try to catch the Electrical Parade at 9 but I don't think we will make it until 10.

If we leave right after the parade is there somewhere at the WL to see the wishes fireworks?

If it helps we are staying CL so will have access to Old Faithful.

Thanks so much.

I agree that there will be an interest for it. And I rather suspect there will be views of the higher fireworks. I'm thinking that although it's further away it could be somewhat similar to watching from the CR convention porte cochere but you would not see as many or any of the lower fireworks as you do from there. And it was fairly common for people to be watching from the WL beach every night where you could see the higher fireworks.

Agreed. Robo even has a map advising the location right next to it.

Also, for fireworks your sight line ran directly to the castle but the majority are shot off behind the MK. So for fireworks I think they would appear to be somewhere over the CR convention center. BLT blocked some of the fireworks from the WL beach but the convention center is not as tall so perhaps it will be a little better view. I know that it could be recommended to go to the employee parking lot at WL to watch the fireworks although I never did that.

haha - typing at same time!

Agree or dis-agree, one thing is certain, Disney/DVC will sell the new resort out and they will raise the price and point requirements.

It's like other things Disney, the seasoned lovers aren't really as happy as they once were but it doesn't matter to Disney because they will be replaced with new blood who continues to pack the place. Disney just posted record profits again, almost 3 billion dollars for the quarter, less than desirable views for new DVC projects doesn't even cross their minds. If they build it, people will buy.

Funny.

But as for the boat traffic-pretty common view around WDW resorts.

My guess is that if you can see World Drive they will do some vegetation to hide that. So you'll see the monorail, boats, island, water, trees and maybe CR/BLT. For me that's not undesirable.

But I'm not thinking I'll see much value in staying in these buildings anyway unless they wow and it's just for fun for a night or two. It's a little unlikely I could reconcile myself to the expected point cost though.

Bill they better not price us original owners out. :( Not looking to add additional points but I'm afraid of different booking categories which means they can up those nightly point requirements.
