VWL December 2008

Looking for advice on going in December. I am looking for a 2BR from 12/12 to about 12/20 (I have some flexibility on the dates). I have posted on the Rent/Trade board and am wondering if the expert DVCers out there think I have any shot of getting something during that timeframe.

It seems December is relatively quiet everywhere except DVC

You have posted on the rent/trade board. Make sure you read all of the information there before you proceed.

December at VWL will be VERY hard to get, even at this early stage, I think.

I have rented previously and everything has gone well. I browse/lurk on the boards ALOT but don't post much. I think 7 of my 9 posts over the past three years have circulated around renting DVC points. It just seems I am running into more issues with December than other "busier" times of the year....

i booked a two bedroom at VWL day by day for Dec 3-8 just so that I wouldn't be shut out. December is VERY popular at VWL. If you don't already have ther reservation, I wouldn't count on getting it at this point.

VWL is the smallest vacation club on WDW property with only 136 rooms, I believe.

I wish you best of luck but many owners are aware of the low point value during that time period and take advantage of the 11 month window.

I was hoping to swtich form a 1 bedroom at AKL to WL becuase I love the boat ride. With a stroller just wheel on than off. Doesn't sound promising at 7 months

Nope! We decided to just stay with our home resort and be happy to be at WDW! Would have love VWL but since we don't own there, it's very unlikely we'll get our villa for the first week of Dec.
