VWL...2 BR w/points & studio OOP?? Can I do this?

Again....very new to this...so I have another question:

My home resort is VWL. We plan on taking a big Xmas trip in 2007 So, at the 11 month window I will call and make a day by day reservation for a 2 bedroom. My sister and her family will join us as well...can I also make a reservation for a studio at this time...but pay out of pocket for it? I am unsure what the protocol is, and what my chances of securing this are. And do I do this day by day as well?

You can try to make the cash reservation- but MS may not allow it until they know the room won't be needed for points reservations. Sometimes, they will allow cash reservations at 11 months (especially if you want a weekend night), but often they won't know about that availability until within 6 months. You might even find cash availability thru CRO earlier than thru MS.

If MS knows (from past history and current reservation interest) that a night won't likely be reserved using points, they can release it for cash nites.

I'd call and ask. (They will be open today)

VWL is the smallest, so it stands to reason that a studio would not be available for member cash discount. You might just have to get the studio through CRO.

Have you conisidered a WL hotel reservation instead of your studio? It is not as convenient as being in the same building... but you could secure a room that is relatively close.
