Hi there!!

I am hoping to get some help here. We are planning a vow renewal for our 10 year anniversary. It's still 3 years away (don't judge!!)!!! I just have a few questions, mostly in photos!!

I know we will have a Disney photographer for our ceremony, will they take us around the resort and do photos after? I assume yes as time permits? Also, I have looked into other pictures. I am hoping to be able to do family pics in our wedding attire at a park? It seems they do this based on their website, does anyone have experience with this?

Also, why would you hire a different photographer than Disney? Is it the quality? I'm thinking most of Disney people are not "trained" in the same way as a professional photographer. But an outside photographer will not be allowed to do pics inside the parks, right?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!!

No judgement here it is never too early to start planning. I was told that only bride and groom can attend the Mk photo shoot which left my kids out but am not sure about other parks. Outside photographers are not allowed in the parks and usually people choose non disney photography due to the price. You can get a lot more bang for your buck with non disney photography however u will need disney for in park photos. Hope this is helpful

That is what I figured about non Disney photographers.

I did know the "wedding" photo sessions were bride/groom only. But it seems from their website they do family photo sessions inside the parks? Like in Epcot, prior to opening. Any one have knowledge of this?

We hired outside photographers (David & Vicki Arndt) because we wanted photos at the resort getting ready, and at a couple of the other resorts before heading over for our ceremony. They're also doing family photos after our ceremony and going along on our fireworks cruise.

I really love their style. They both used to be Disney Photographers! Whether you hire a Disney photographer or an outside photographer there will be some who don't have it and some that are fantastic.

Happy Planning! You can never start planning too early :)

I don't know if they do family sessions in EPCOT before park opening....MAYBE in WS since they don't open until 11? I do know with AK, you can do a family or engagement/anniverary shoot but during park hours. The only way to do a shoot before the park opens is bridal shoot....You might want to call DPS and get the exact details.

Yeh, sorry I did mean in WS. I was looking at their website and saw a picture where the lady appeared to be in a short bridal gown, but she had her kids with her. I will call and figure out what my options may be!

No judging here at all. DH and I have started talking about our 20 year DCL Vow Renewal. It's 5 years away. :rotfl:

I figure to do it the way I really want to, it's gonna take that long to pay for it! My hubby looked like this when I told him. :faint:

As I understand it at the moment (but be aware that DFTW change their policies frequently), non-Disney photographers are allowed at a DFTW wedding in a park, but the MK shoots are shot exclusively by Disney photographers. If I am wrong, those who know, please correct me :thumbsup2
The main reason that past brides have used outside photographers is the inconsistent quality of the work produced by Disney photographers. You see brilliant work from them, but you also see appalling messes from them!!
Also, DFTW are unable to guarantee your choice of photographer. Sure, you can request a specific photographer, but you may well not get your first choice, or you second, or even your third!!!!
A lot of brides prefer to book an outside photographer so that they know who they will be getting and what their work is like.
