For those of you who've already had a VR, or are planning one, how formal or un-formal was your dress? I'm dreaming of my one day Disney VR, and have been looking at dresses the past couple of days, but really can't decide on what style I want. I initially thought that I would do something simple, but the more I look, the more I want something more "princessy", but I don't know how formal I should go since it's just a VR. Just wondering what everyone else went with when chosing their dresses! TIA!

Welcome.:goodvibes I think it really is your choice on what you want to wear..... I had very mixed thoughts about this too when I was considering various dresses for our VR, but in the end I chose one I liked and felt comfortable in. (I don't want to wear a veil so I will have tiara/comb in my hair).... best of luck with your plans....:goodvibes here is what I chose

I picked a silver dress for our 25th Anniversary VR. (How original). I had the fancy white wedding dress the first time around and wanted something different. We budgeted less for the clothing and more on just getting our children there and back home. Airline tickets and the cruise cabins and gifts we handed out took up a chunk of change...After the cruise we spent a few days at Disney's Vero Beach and then almost a week more at WDW.

that is so pretty great choice. where is it from ???

I am looking for a dress and having a hard time finding one in a well as i put it to my hubby in a tent size that is still pretty

Oh now you did it! More wedding pictures for me to post!!

I got my dress at Alfred Angelo in their Destiny collection..i loved it from the moment I saw it and it was a great VR dress!

I decided to get a formal gown because when I got married the first time I was a little overweight and felt kind of bad about myself (my own weird body issues here)...plus all of our pictures never surfaced from the photographer so we have just a few wedding pictures... so this was my shot to be the Cinderella I never felt like I looked like before (even though my husband debates with me about this topic and thought I was "gorgeous"...thats one of the reasons I married him!!! He's great...okay sorry to gush on and on) but anyway it is up to you ultimately since it is your day. I say go with whatever makes you the most comfortable. The other thing is that the weather is so nice that a semi-formal type of dress is much more practical as well.

My original thought was something short and simple, then I walked into David's Bridals, and I couldn't help myself.

I am like Betsy, any reason to post a picture and relive the moment.

Good luck

Wow, everyone's gowns are beautiful!!! I'm glad that I wa able to give y'all a chance to post some pics to re-live the memories!!!!

I guess I'm just undecided because at my wedding, I was able to have the dress that I wanted. I guess I just don't want to chose something too plain for the VR, but yet don't want to over do it either!

Thanks for the replies. I feel better about looking for something now!

oh overdo it!!

You are the bride..it is always about you!!!! Lots of bridal shops have destination type dresses now that are not too formal

I think most of the VR brides go through the same dilemma, should I go simple or formal? Should it look like a wedding dress or not? Should I wear a veil or not? I think ultimately you should do whatever you are want!! There is no right or wrong!

Just came back from our 15th Anniversary VR and here is what I wore, it's an Alfred Angelo from the destination collection:

Thanks, you are soooo....sweet! Yes, I'm plenty old enough, just turned 38! I love your dress too. That was one of the dresses I was actually considering. It was in my top 3 and is the one my husband picked. He wanted me in something shorter. I think Alfred Angelo's destination collection has a lot of great picks for VR dresses and most are pretty reasonably priced! :goodvibes

i just turned 38 in June and have a DD named Kaitlyn!! We had our VR on DCL July 25th!
Small world!

oh, and my parents are from Alabama..dad was from Jasper and Mom from Winfield
