Beginning today this attraction will be closed for two months for rehabs.

Looks like we'll miss it when we're there in Feb. :( There's always next time, and one less thing we must see. Thanks for the information.

That means I'm gonna miss it again!
We only had time for one more thing, last time I went.
So we went to One Man's Dream instead!
poo.

The attraction "One Man's Dream" certainly isn't poo! It's a finely-crafted exhibit about Walt Disney and his legacy with a lot of rarely-seen artifacts, and it ends with a great film.
It may not be a musical show based on a cartoon, but perhaps an exhibit based on the life of the guy who made Disneyland is more interesting to some ....

I think the poster was implying disappointment with the fact that she will miss Little Mermaid for the second time, as opposed to disappointment with her choice of One Man's Dream. The exclamation point at the end of instead we chose One Man's Dream implies to me that they were not disappointed with their choice.

OH NO!!!! We missed this show last year and DD has been counting the days until we go again in Feb to see this show. She is only 7 (6 last year) and JUST last night got out the MGM map and went over it with a fine tooth comb finding where we needed to go to see "HER" show!!! Please tell me this aint so (I know I know....don't EVER tell a child "next time"!!!!!) Is there somewhere she can at least see the Little Mermaid character??? I CANT go home tonight ....I can't tell her this...............:( :(

I think I saw the Little Mermaid in the Stars and Motor Cars parade during the afternoon at MGM. You can probably look up times for this parade. Can anyone verify if she is in this?? Thanks!

You won't be able to see her in the show, but rest assured, you can see her in the parade at MGM, Fantasmic, the parade at the Magic Kingdom, or you can even get an autograph and picture at Ariel's Grotto at the Magic Kingdom.

My kids are dying to see Ariel. If they finish on time, we might see the show since we are arriving on 3/8 - but you never know how these refurbishings will go. Thank you for the "heads up" on this.

I just posted on the themepark board but I think something is fishy here. Mermaid was in rehab last year same time for several months how could it possibly need to go back into rehab so soon? I wonder if its becoming "seasonal" like COP? There isn't much left at MGM. Doug, Hunchback gone without replacements and now Mermaid in rehab.

It isn't becoming seasonal. The rehab was planned to be a two step process before they even went down the first time. I was a performer in the show and they told us back in the summer of 2001 the show would go down two times for rehabs.

I read that it will be closed thru March 1...... does this mean it will open again on March 1 or March 2? I have seen it many times, but I am bringing a friend who has not been to Disney in 13 years so she has not seen it. Our last day at the parks is March 1.
Thanks, Julie
