Vouchers for meals

My daughter will be dancing with her dance group at Disney this summer. As part of the trip, we've been told we will be receiving meal vouchers. Has anyone had any experience with meal vouchers? If so, could you give me some details. I'm curious if they are strictly fast food fare or can they be used at any of the sit down restaurants? Any info would be helpful. Thanks.
