Of the moderates I would have to say my favorite is POFQ - I loved the theme and the small size won me!! If I didn't like the deluxes so much I would be staying at POFG again - but I have to take the hubby to AKL!!

we also love riverside... for all of the different things that they offer there...

the boat to dtd, horse drawn carriages, the pools, boat rentals, and just the peacefulness of it - thanks to its theming...

you can't go wrong by staying there. we have stayed at all of the mod resorts, and like them all. they all have something different to offer. personally, as long as you are staying on disney property it will be an experience. i really don't like staying off property if i don't have to, it makes your disney trip that much better.

good luck, and have fun!

ktink,
I almost forgot! If your kids like to fish, you can go fishing at Riverside at a small pond close to the main pool. It is just pole fishing, but it was fun. We didn't catch anything but we saw all kinds of wildlife, an otter, a turtle, etc. They might enjoy that. :flower:

Wow, thanks for the fishing idea alabamagirl. POR really does have alot to offer. Well like several have said, you can't go wrong staying onsite. This will be our first moderate resort. We've only stayed at Pop before and we loved it but want to stay at all the resorts.

CSR offers fishing at the marina as well as water mice, surrey bikes, kayaks, pedal boats and a new bass fishing excursion.

Buzz, a little help please. I did some research on allearsnet and read that POR is the 2nd largest moderate resort but read that CSR is so large and spread out. My question is, we will have a 4yo with us and is there alot of walking that she can handle at the end of a long day or is this what the internal shuttle is for?

As far as theming, looking at the pics, CSR seems to fit our tastes a little better, we love the tropical southwest, mex feel. And the hammocks and beach. If we do decide to change resorts will there be a fee? :confused3

Also one more CSR question, we have paid for waterview at POR and would like to keep that IF we do change, what section would that most likely put us in? I think we would love the cabana section.

My mind was made up a couple of days ago to stay at POR but my DD's really like the pics of the Dig Site and actually like CSR a little better, even though POR is Scarlett O'Hara's house. :rotfl:

Thanks in advance Buzz.

I'm a CBR girl. I love it, especially the hammocks!

My family loves CBR! We love the tropical themeing and the peaceful walkways. We love the bridge to walk over to get to the main pool and food court. We love all the beautiful caribbean colors. We love the sandy beaches, ducks, and hammocks. We love the variety at the food court, and we have always had great bus service. We love the main pool and the quiet pools in each of the villages. We love the size of the rooms and the two double sinks. We love CBR and wouldn't stay anywhere else!! :sunny:

CSR-it's just so pretty. It's also very quiet, and although I did not swim in the pool, it is an awesome pool. We stayed at the Port Orleans several years ago (when it was just "Port Orleans" or "Dixie Landings") and although the theme was nice and everything was very clean and we had no complaints, I thought the CSR was prettier. Besides, we LIVE in New Orleans, so Port Orleans was not overly impressive to me.
However, the pool there is nice, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and maybe for people who have never travelled to this part of Louisiana, it will be fun and exciting. You can't go wrong with it, as it is a very nice hotel. But favoritism out of all the moderates lies with CSR.

I hope you enjoy CSR as much as we do. You will love it. Good choice.

That is what the new internal shuttle will eliminate.

Most of the cabana rooms are waterview but make sure to request that section if that is what you want.

Thanks, Buzz.

My TA booked us for CSR today. :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

I can't wait to stay at this great resort.

I've only stayed at CBR and CSR and out of those I like CBR best. The theme is great! :sunny: and The food court is awesome. We're staying at POR this time and I really like how it sounds. So pretty and old-fashioned like Gone With the Wind :cloud9: I think we'll enjoy it

I guess I am one of those irresponsible voters, voting when I don't know all the facts (but I did it anyway)! We have only stayed at POR and we absolutely loved it. I was afraid the kids would miss all that cute theming at Pop and ASMO but they loved it to. We ended up not even going to the parks one day except to see the parade. For a family of park commandos that is saying something. It was like having a vacation within a vacation. We ended up swimming every day, renting a surrey bike and eating quite a few meals at the food court. All highly unusual for us. I was all set to switch our December reservation from Pop to POR but then DH found out he is taking a pay cut so I guess not! I would love to try out the other moderates but now am thinking that when we stay at a moderate none of us will want to try anything different!
