I thought I saved the thread, but apparently I didn't. :sad2: Can someone help me out with the code I need for free delivery from Vons. I know I get free delivery with my first order if it is over $50. Can someone remind me what I need to do in order to get it?

Also, how far in advance should I order? Thanks!!!

Not sure what the free delivery code is, but we just used PICNIC, where you have to buy $150 worth of stuff and include at least five things from a list.

EASY7
You have to spend $50 or more. (Easily done with bottled water, juices, snacks, etc.)

Order around 3 weeks in advance from your date of the trip, to get the delivery time you want - then, right up until the last evening before you are there, you can still make changes to your order if you want to! :) So pricing will change somewhat in 3 weeks on some items, but the day or two before you can go in and edit as needed. The only thing you can't do once you placed the order is apply a coupon code applicable toward an item that may come out, but sale prices will be valid (new sales.) If something you ordered was on sale upon time of ordering, but not on sale day of delivery, you won't be able to get it at the sale price, so check all of the prices and dates, etc.,

Good luck!! :)

Yes, that was it! Haha I forgot since our first delivery was at Halloween.

Oh, and don't forget that the sales and specials change every Tuesday, so check the "good until" dates or you might get charged different prices.

Thanks everyone. We placed our order last night. We arrive in 10 days, but we still got a good delivery time - 1-3pm. We will still tweak the order before arrival, but we got our order placed!

And you are absolutely right - it didn't take much for us to reach the $50 minimum. :rolleyes1

We are here! Just wanted to let you know that last time, I ordered a bunch of fresh fruit (grapes, pears, etc.) and boy was that a BAD idea. They most definitely weren't "picking" the good stuff. It was like they just grabbed whatever. The grapes were so gross. This time we only did bananas and oranges, and it was much better. And then dried cherries and blueberries (from Costco that we brought from home). Everything runs smoothly and the hotel will store it for you til you ask for it. We arrived at 6:30pm -- I had scheduled a 1-3 delivery and it was no big deal.

What hotel are you staying at? I wonder if all hotels are as happy to hold it for you.

Is it possible to get delivery from Vons if I don't live in the States? This would make our life so so much easier if we didn't have to load everyone up in a taxi and take time out of our trip to run to the grocery store and we will need some necessities for our trip.

Do I just make an account with the hotels address as my address?

If you do have an account, how do you get them to deliver to the hotel?

We are staying at the Grand Californian, and I know others have reported that they will store your groceries for you. I'm not sure about other hotels.

As for being in Canada - I'm not sure. When we created our account, they asked for our delivery address, so we put the hotel. Then, when we needed to pay, we gave our billing address for the credit card. I don't think that would be a problem if your billing address is in Canada, but I can't say for sure. It is definitely worth a try to save the time!

I would order in advance cause I remember last time I ordered I waited til 2 days before and almost all spots were gone (specially the most convenient times). I would try and order about a week ahead in the future. Though you also don't want to do it too far in advance cause the prices you get charged are the ones valid for your week of delivery, so if you order another week you will not know final prices or whats on sale that week. But then again you can always order and secure your delivery spot and then come back and make adjustments.

Last time I ordered I went through bigcrumbs and they have $12 cashback that you have to wait about a month or two to get, but it worked, on your first order.

Oh man, I'm bummed to hear that about the fresh fruit, but I'm glad you shared this about Von's, as I had planned to order from them. We eat a ton of fruit and I was hoping to get some for our hotel room, but we won't have a car. I really don't want to pay Disneyland prices for fruit, even if it is delicious!

Anyone know if the Target on Harbor has produce? We may be staying across the street, so maybe we could walk over and shop a little?

We are at GCH, but I'm sure the other Disney hotels are just as accommodating.

Liat, I think it's okay. Others have done it before, I believe.

Nancy Drew, the Vons route is soooo convenient. I spent $190 and I'm sure this stuff would be twice as much or more in the parks. Water, Individual milk boxes, and juice boxes are probably the biggest money savers. Just pick out fruit they can't mess up too badly. And we also get hothouse cucumbers, carrots and broccoli for the kids to nibble on. Those are fine -- and portable!
