Just got a letter from Disney that I was excepted at the 5K:cool1:. I was on the waitlist so I really did not think I was doing it. We will have to drive the motorhome over to Epcot since no busses are running for the 4AM shift start.

Any one else volunteering and any helpful hints that I can get??????

Thanks
Kathy

Sorry, Marathon some how I lost my A and T

Do your best to avoid the water stop. Absent that, work on filling rather than handing out. Finally, if handing out, hold cup by the bottom so the runner can simply grab.

Finally, thanks for volunteering. You may be able to cab over rather than unhitching the RV. From the Ft Wilderness area, it is less than $10

Thanks Coach for the info. I read on the site that you have to wear gloves handling food. I do not know if water is in that category or not. I have latex allergy so no gloves for me.

Since I have to be there at 4AM, John decided that he should do the 5K and I just registered him He is DOPEY:rotfl: again this year

Are you and John the couple that stayed in the 200 loop last year and drove your MH to the races? If so, PM me. My son and I were in the 200 loop and Goofied also. We will have a car with us and I'm running the 5k also. I'd be happy to drive you and John over to Epcot - even at pre 4:00am.

Also, are you allergic to vinyl gloves?

Chester

Chester - John and I were in the 200 loopand I PM'd you. I am allergic to latex and I emailaed run disney and they did state they would put me in an area that I would not need gloves

Kathy I'm volunteering for the half and will be at Water Stop #6. Water stops aren't bad--I have done them at WDW before (mercifully not in 2010). You get there early enough to fill up a whole bank of cups and then hand out.

Wear comfortable shoes (a WDW rule, anyway!) and if you are at a water stop, consider wearing wicking clothing (like running gear). That way, if you do get splashed, you should dry easier (but this never happened to me)

The finish time listed on the assignment is an estimate. I was done earlier than indicated.
