VMK Reached It's limit? Game is back up - 4/27/07

Everyone's coming to my side of the camp.

Repeat after me, everyone:

"Worst ride-a-thon ever!"

I wouldn't necessarily call it a Failure or the Worst ever. It's not VMK's fault that they are getting this much attention. There is also really nothing for them to do about it right now either. All we can do is sit and wait. Life does not consist of everyone giving you what you want and you having it perfectly. Everyone and everything has faults and flaws and you just have to deal with it.

I don't see the deal of why you have to be rude just because of this.. I've seen it before and I dont see why putting others or things down is going to help, because it's not making anyone or anything feel better .


Well.. anywho.. back on topic. But I got a bright . We all sit, wait, and try to get it patiently. I am sure everyone will get a chance. I have already been on earlier today, and the lag was terrible, so I dont see the people in VMK right now really getting anywhere.. My sister has yet to get on and get ANY of the rugs from the ride-a-thon, and trust me.. She'd be happy just to get one.

I think that the system is not logging off people correctly. I was checking on my kids' characters. I had each of them ride a few times and then closed their windows. They still show up on my friends list as still on VMK when I know they are not. This is also causing some of the backups in the Fantasyland Courtyard because people are standing around instead of being logged off properly.

No, Pirate, not everyone. This is a great event and I too am stuck in queues and having trouble loggin on and having bad lag and getting the white screen of death and the whole bit. I'm riding the rides, which I do anyway, and getting something each time. Something new I get to build with.

As for being rude, the Dark Ride-a-thon has been the blanket excuse. The VMK Tech team cannot reveal anything, as they're trying to make sure the Ride-a-thon will run smoothly. Yavn can't talk about the quests, because he has to get ready for the ride-a-thon. What a wonderful question, but it will have to wait until after the ride-a-thon as VMK has to get ready for that. VMK is scrambling to get ready for the Ride-a-thon.

I don't care if you think I'm rude: a bunch of people got a chance to get rugs, while a bunch were unable. It's not unfortunate...

Mostly because mean words certainly don't help. Negativity certainly doesn't help. Besides you already have people agreeing to sell you there rugs for your offer, so you'll have plenty of them. Now, as to the ones who don't have the credits to offer and the means by which to try again and again, and have still maintained a positive attitude, I guess I'll have to help them out.

IT's funny Im on right now and I have 18 friends on line and only 5 of them are on the rides the rest are just doing what they always do, so we cant blame everything on the ride a thon also I have extra rugs if someone can not get on at all tonight I would be more then happy to share

I think she's just trying to be optimistic about it. It's true that people are having difficulty and getting very frustrated (myself included), but I'm not sure that VMK could have necessarily anticipated this reaction. They learn from their mistakes and try to make things better in the future. Since I'm having alright luck right now getting rugs, I'm trying to get as many as I can, so that I can give some to those who were unable to do the same. Let's stay united as a community guys and not let tempers get the best of us

But there are a lot of folks standing around the courtyard and not moving at all. I like the ride-a-thon, but I think it would've been simpler to have it in multiple Host rooms. Not the same as the rides, but still. I just think the rides seem to be very heavy on system resources, and with all those players mostly running to those rides, just seems like a disaster waiting to happen. It could work well perhaps if they had better servers/more server space, but as it is now, I think it's too much for the game to take.

ETA: I'm frozen in place, but I can still check the map. All courtyard rooms are at 3 red Mickeys.

Bummer. First our internet service decided to die for most of the afternoon (wonderful Comcast ) and now that it's finally fixed we can't get into VMK. No mossy rugs for us. Oh well, my sims will be happy for my undivided attention I'm sure.

I'm disappointed but life's too short to get bent over the small stuff. Not good for the health you know. Besides, I can pick up the Pinnochio pins for my daughter & I tomorrow. The rugs would have been cool but we definitely didn't want to miss the pins.

Well I am on and cannot get any messages. I am getting rugs and Magic pins, but am scared to use them everything is so crazy. Now I am in queue for Fantasyland Courtyard and Prisoner of Pan ride!! I can just imagine what tomorrow will be like....

I think so, too, SorcererDonald. I just came off the ride, got back in line, paid my 10 credits and then stepped away like you do when you forget about that pay the credits box. So, I did it again. Same result. I hit refresh, found 11 messages that I hadn't received in my mail box and am in queue for a fantasyland courtyard. it's to be expected. Believe me, the ride-a-thons used to be much worse, even a year ago when I started. From what I've heard here on this board, they were atrocius before that.

yea, i was doin all right till like 10 minutes ago started lagging up a storm, but i continued riding, then when i got back on again it just dc me, oh well i got about 25 rugs, i hope its enough to cover my room, (i cant tell you why hehe) ill just try later tonight when a storm of ppl are not on.
