VMK onsite at Magic Kindom

Is there a place to go while at Magic Kingdom and play VMK? Do you get any kinds of prizes for points you have on VMK while at DisneyWorld?

Yes there is, but you are going to get frustrated. It's called VMK Central and it's about halfway down on the right on Main Street. There are maybe four terminals, and I think they are older than I am (I'm ancient, trust me). The keyboards are atrocious to use and the screens terrible.

However, if you create a new character while at a park, you receive special clothing, special black ears, I think an extra room, and a "Born in Park" badge (not a pin, a badge).

The last two times I was at a park, given the horrible computers, I did not create a new character. I sent a few in game messages to friends just so they had a message from someone at a park.

You will not be sitting there playing VMK. no chairs! Besides, getting out and enjoying the parks is what you want to be doing there anyway! Do the quests, get your quest cards, maybe create a character for the novel stuff, then get out! Go play for real!

Thank you so much for the info. My 8 year old son has been dying to know what the big deal is about VMK onsite and it sounds like there isn't one. At least I can give him an answer and enjoy our trip next week without him asking about it over and over! THANKS

You know, I first found out about VMK while watching a Disney vacation planning DVD, and that was the impression the DVD gave me, too. It's the main reason I started playing VMK, actually, but that's not true. I think that video is kind of misleading... but now it's too late, because I'm hooked

Wow, I didn't realize that. The VMK central at DL was much better then, it had quite a few terminals, decent equipment, but the connection was slow. I did create a character in the park and (at that time) got more perks.

The main thing is you can turn in quests and get vmk prizes. Also if you create a new character at the park, you get stuff like black mickey ears that you can only get at the park.

Unless something has changed very recently, this is no longer true. The last time (it was after New Years) I was watching somebody create a character in VMK Central they got nothing except the Born-In-Park badge.

Since BobRichmond is there quite often and I live almost 900 miles away, I would go with his answer!
