Yesterday there was a set of princess ears sold for what I guess was about an hour. I was on line at the time and I bought ten pairs of them. Then VMK pulled them. My guess is they were meant to go with the pink dress or because the boys were allowed to buy and wear them.

So later that day people went wild trying to get them. I traded each and every pair for either a bird hat or beta. Two pretty rare items. I was offered a sorcerers hat for them but had traded my last pair. That is a prime example of our sense of urgency in the game. There was a small supply and a big demand because people want the new things right now! Right this very minute and they were willing to trade whatever they had to, to get that hat.

Lets look ahead to tomorrow or in a few days when the hat is really released the value will plummet and anyone that traded something valuable and truly rare (like beta because thus far they ain't making any more if that ) they are going to probably regret it but what better lesson in supply and demand in our game that that.

Just when the Herbie stuff was losing it's value the Princess hat came along to keep the trading fast and furious.

Now if they never again release this hat (doubtful) I will be the one weeping

Yavn has already said that they will release the hat again (although he didn't say when other than "soon")

Also for those that think it was a mistake that boys can wear them - it's not. Yavn also confirmed that boys will still be able to wear them when they release them again.

More on topic though: The first day of diving suits, when they were still tradeable, I made some pretty good trades too. Teleportation, quest items, etc. I find it amazing how people will offer really good stuff for things they could get in a few days or minutes (in the case of diving suits). Definitely a "must have it now" mentality.

I told my son about your post. He was all excited and decided to trade his purple princess hat. (He got it yesterday by trading a HM bride pin, magic mirror, and a penny press.) Today he traded the princess hat for a sorc. Mickey ear. (He had tried to trade all that for the sorc mickey ears before) Now I'm trying to trade with him for those blue ears!
